I do have a home altar.
I have a bell on it. To call prayer time. Helps quiet the background noise in my brain. I have two short sanctuary candles, which I refill with soy wax myself as a sustainable alternative. An incense burner and some lovely Greek icons. The Holy Spirit and the Pantocrator which are favorites of mine.
On very special feast days I buy flowers.
It's where I go to pray. I use the Liturgy of the Hours. I park myself. Calm my mind. Turn to God. Some of the best time of my day is spent there.

Sort of. It's not really an altar, more of a dresser with things to remind me of Jesus, Mary, and the saints.
A statue of Our Blessed Mother and various other statues of saints, and some other things. I have a crucifix hanging over it.
It helps me concentrate when I pray and ask for intercessions from Our Lady and the saints. It reminds me of all the things God has done for us when I look at the crucifix.
In Pace Christi,

I don't know if i would call it an altar. But yes I have a special place.
there is a candle, and a picture of mary. And a picture of Jesus.
And it is is my extra bedroom so it is quiet, and I can go in there and pray and meditate and think.

I have an icon corner with different icons of the 12 feasts( from Annunciation to Ascension), a crucifix and Madonnas and Christs of different countries(Nigerian,Chinese,Mexican, Navaho,Brazilian) and a Bible on a stand. I also have an album of pictures of deceased and living family and friends. The shrine reminds me that we are in a universal family in the Body of Christ and the Communion of Saints and that the Lord is with me in all situations

I have a prayer alter in my room. I have just a small round table that I use with a white table cloth on it. It has a Crucifix standing on it, and it has a small dish of holy water. I also keep my Bible on it. It's where I pray the Liturgy of the Hours every day.

No. I've never known anyone to have a home altar, not even sisters in a prayer room. Do you have one?
