I am not religious, but certain religious people keep insisting that God loves me. It would be pretty unrewarding if he loved me for no reason.

He loves you because He created you. He knew you before you were born and is always there waiting for you to call on Him. He stands at the door and knocks-will you invite Him in or reject the gift of his love for you. The choice is always yours.

He loves you because you are you, he created you and is proud of his work. You say it is unrewardind, do you mean for you or God? God loves you and alwys will, it is like parents, they love you even if it seems they don't. It is rewarding to you, for one it always brightens your day when you start off thinking no matter what happens or what you do someone loves you enough to send their son to earth to die in a very painbful way so he could be with you. Another thing is that since he loves you he provides for you, ALWAYS count your blessings, some of mine are i have a house to live in, plenty of food, parents who love me, a good school, good friends who care, access to the internet and electricity. The list goes on and on. I don't know how old you are, but did anyone you are close to get a raise (that includes you) I thinks so, and that is God providing for them (or you) and even if you don't love him back he will love you, infact he will be knocking nonstop at your hearts door until you love him back, he gave you the choice to love him because it makes it even more special. Yes there is pain, but he is always with us, even through pain and promises heaven will be pain free. And he has yet to break a promise. Sorry you feel unrewarded...He first loved you! He's just that good! We don't have to qualify for the love of God.

No one can earn God's love. If you could, then God would be no better than a parent who plays favorites with only some siblings & salvation would be on subjective terms. We would never know if we were accepted by God or not, how much more we needed to kiss up, etc.. No, God is not that cruel.

God demands perfection from His creation. But with Adam & Eve as our representatives, we have failed that test & deserve eternal spiritual & physical death. However, God in His infinite mercy provided a means of salvation, which was the death of His Son Jesus Christ in our place. This sacrifice was sufficient for everyone, not just some. In this way & this way alone, a person can have the assurance of a salvation which is on objective terms. This is what is meant by the statement: 'By God's Grace Alone, through Faith in Jesus Christ Alone, as written in Scripture Alone.'

God loves you because He created you. God loves you because although you were born a sinner & enemy of God (you inherited this sin from Adam & Eve who chose to disobey God & make themselves enemies of God), He sent His one & only Son, Jesus Christ to redeem your life spiritual & physical. He doesn't want the bitter suffering & death of His beloved Son to be wasted. He wants you to believe that this death was for you. In other words, for the sake of Christ, He loves you.

The means through which this undeserved love & redemption come to you personally is through God's Word (The Holy Bible) & Sacrament (Baptism, Communion).

Again the simple answer to why God loves you is (1) He created you (2) He redeemed you through Christ. If you have more questions, the most simple, clear & honest answers I have found are on www.lcms.org.

You are looking at it, as if the glass if half empty.

God loves mankind. He created us in his own image. He wants us to be happy, to have a successful life, to learn, to love, and to grow. He wants everything for us that we want for our children. He truly loves us all. In fact, he loves us so much that he sent his son to die for us so that we might be saved.

Do not think that you are not deserving of his love.

Have you never done anything kind? Have you never been nice to someone? Have you never loved? It is for those reasons that God grants us his love. We are capable of love. We are capable of being nice to someone for no other reason than to be nice. For every kindness that you have ever shown, you have made God certain of his love for you.

God Bless You.

You only need to refer to John 3:16 in a bible to know that "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whoever beliveth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." You are a part of this world so God must love you. Just because you don't know God does not mean he does not know you, the bible tells us that God knows how many hairs are on your head. If you want to experience God's love then try to let him in, it is really easy to do, and doesn't cost you a thing. Just in your head say ok God, I want to know what you are all about, I want to believe in you, so lets do this, show me what you got.

You haven't done one thing to deserve or earn God's love. He created you for His pleasure. God enjoys watching you.
God called His creation good. God said you are fearfully and wonderfully made. As we learn about the human body, I agree we are wonderfully made. God gave you the breath that you breathe and the life that flows in the blood through your veins. God said He knew you before He formed you in your mother's womb. You are His wonderful creation and God doesn't create ugly. God thinks you are beautiful.

You don't have to do anything. God loves you for who you are. Check out the Bible. God is the creator of everything and because he created you, you're like his child... So you mean everything to Him. That's why He sent Jesus down to earth to die for our sins. That's true love. Where someone sacrifices something for you.

God loves you because He made you and wants the best for you He loves you and hopes you will come to follow Him. some parents say they will love their children no matter what they do, it is the same with God. He will punish people for sinning, but He will forgive them.

Nothing. God loved you the moment he thought you into existence and will love you no matter what you do or who you are for all time. He may be disappointed with some of your decisions on occasion, but he will always love you. Always.
