Hi. If you're not afraid to spend some money, check out Nutrisystem. I did it for three months and lost 30 lbs. I'm 50 years old and tried every diet out there and even tried to get my dr to help me, with no success. I'm no longer on the Nutrisystem plan but still eating the same way. I also do Tae Bo regularly and weight lifting. Hope this helped.

My doctor told me to consume no more than 1200 calories a day and to walk (power walk) at least 20 minutes a day. I stopped eating junk (candy, cookies, cake, donuts) and began moving my body. Before long the weight began to fall off.

Any program you choose will require discipline and will power. I used e-diets in the beginning and that worked well for me. Dr. Ian from Celebrity Fit Club has a decent program.

In the end, I found it easier to count calories rather than plan specific meals that often included ingredients I had never heard of.

Whatever you choose just remember it won't happen unless you incorporate some form of cardio exercise.

Cut your calories in half, or close to it. There are many free websites that will track your calories for you, all you have to do is enter everything you did that day (what you ate, how much you exercised, how much you walked ect. and it will calculate numbers that will help you out) and they work. Worked for my aunt and uncle. If you can't stand eating so little, cut a third of the calories away. You really can accomplish this if you stick too it. 190 is not healthy if you are 5'4, you will look and feel better. Hope it works!

Exercise is the key. Most people know what foods are good and what are bad, stick to what you know are good foods and just exercise. Go for walks and maybe go to the gym if you have the time. Don't sit in front of the TV and do nothing. I wouldn't worry about deadlines as long as you are losing the weight. Keep with healthy foods and excercise and you will succede, don't give up!

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I am 5'2 and weighed 150 lbs. I now weigh 125 lbs thanks to pilates and running. I just cut bak on all my foods. I gave up all carbs. No pasta or bread. basically anything that has flour in it is a no, no. I did an hour and half of pilates then 1 hour of running, jogging, and walking. I did not always run. I mainly walked and jogged. I also wrapped my self my abdomen in a black trash bag. It wasn't easy but i did this routine everyday. I worked out. I lost all that weight in about 2 months. try it and see if it works. good luck

Now i work in Kgs, so i don't know how heavy you are, but one of the best ways to lose weight, especially if you have a decent time period (as you do) to do it in, is to be colder. Just turn down the central heating in your house so you are not cold, but not warm. Your body will have to use extra calories to keep you warm.

Other people will give you good answers concerning health and food wise, but that is a useful tip people often miss.

In all honesty, Weight Watchers is the healthiest diet there is. It truly gives a balanced meal plan & exercise plan. I am not on a diet and I don't work for weight watchers. My best friend happens to be a nutricianist and she always recommends the weight watchers plan. Most other diets lower your intake of a certain food group to dangerously low levels, which puts your body into shock (starvation mode). I would get on weight watchers if I were you.

Check out the Eat Clean Diet. There is a book thats really helpful.

Also, join a gym. If you can, try and get a personal trainer. If not, see if you can get someone to work out with you every day. You need to eat less, and move more. If you eat the right things, you will see even more success.

Number 1 - Exercise
2. eat healthier and more
3. eat at least 6 times a day - this fastens your metabolism and the food goes done quicker instead of sitting in your body, just make the meals a smaller proportion and make sure your never hungry because that's when you put on weight feeding your face.
4. breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, supper
