I was in the infantry from before the first day 'till after the last day of W W 2. Many good German are not here now because I was there. I fought the enemies of my country - - not religions.
No sensible person could possibly answer your question without first knowing who and why they're fighting.
I am a non-believer, but I have nothing against those who think otherwise. Most of my friends are religious.
Why do so many of you think that Atheists are against religion ? Not believing does not mean being against those who do.
If you like ketchup on your fries, are you against those who don't ? Would you go to war against them, or would it be too far from the telly and fridge ?

Why should we? You religious fanatics are doing an admirable job of knocking each other off already. Besides, unlike you guys, we have no magic book telling us "that guy believes in a different fairy tale. You should kill him."
So tell me, if these other religions are really so horrible for your imaginary god to behold, why aren't christians throwing Crusades anymore? You have Iran and Saudi Arabia trying to convert the world to their cult, and yet you guys don't lift a finger to stop them. Why is this? Too far from the TV and fridge? Or is it that for all your preaching about god's will and how you can't have any other gods before him, you're just a bunch of cowards?

only christians look at communications as fighting or the need to invade other countries there is enough religious BS to keep the atheist busy for quite a while in the US why should they bring their fight to another country? Clean up your own back yard.... is what mother nature would instruct.

I think most smart atheists are pissed off that the religions are still fighting each other to begin with. Maybe some just want to kill religious nuts, but most I think just want to stay out of it. (at least I do)

I don't believe war and violence are terribly useful in any capacity, except as a catalyst for scientific improvement and in regards to population control. Perhaps the use of our intelligence rather than our guns better suits our purposes.

I'm an International Journalism student and I'm training to go overseas and educate America about what life is really like in parts of the world they don't often think about.
I don't want to tell people what to think, and I certainly don't want to "fight" other religions, but I want to expose people to the truth and let them decide for themselves.

How about you, zippy? You willing to go get your *** blown off? Many atheists have served heroically in many wars and on many sides, all the while also having to fight (and serve under) the worthless and self-righteous. Like you.

Athiests don't need to go out of their way to force reality on anyone. Reality is always waiting all around everyone--
And anytime someone who's hiding from it dares to take a peek it'll be right there waiting.

Why would I?
Can you tell me what logical reason I would have to do this.
Would I fight so a bunch of people in my country could practice as they wish...damn skippy I would. At most likely I wouldnt like the religion.

I'm not all that concerned about going too far from the television or the refrigerator. But we still need to confront the religious yokels here in the States before we confront them abroad.
