What do you do when your have an back yard picnic and bees start to buzz around your soda cans and fruit????
You put out bee catchers. Get a soad bottle and make some simple syrup and place it in the large soad bottle and hang it around the area where the bees are. They go after the syrup and not you or your picinic treats.
Simple syrup: 1 cup of sugar and 1 1/2 cups water bring to a boil just until the sugar melts and cool. PLace it in the soda bottles with the cap off. Bee's go in and cant come out.
Ive been doing this for years give it a try!

Sorry, I don't have the answer but I think it is a good question & I have the same problem. Taken a dog to the emergency vet twice for allergic reaction to bee stings. To the one that said get rid of all the flowers, I have none in the backyard. They are all in the front & on the side of the house!!!!!

Get in touch with the news media. They just did a report about 95% of our bees are dead. They probably know some bee keepers who will want to come and move them.
Do not try to do this yourself. You may have them killer bees, boy I hated to say that. They scare me to death. I was wondering if they ate our little bees. Anyway contact and expert bee keeper to do this if you have a nest or ground bees. They are really not even ground bees they are yellow jackets which are a type of hornet. Please be careful if you have a nest out there. Keep the dog away, walk him on the street or where there is a lot of cement. Parking lots. Good Luck I hope you find help. Try your governor hot line they have 800 numbers for everything.

The best thing to do is to remove any plants that attract bees. Also keep trees thinnned that might attract hives and believe it or not, keep her away from your water meter if it is underground (bees frequently form hives in underground water meter vaults). If you get a hive in your yard, call an exterminator or bee keeper right away.

You could try one of the ultrasonic pest control devices out there, but i don't know how effective they would be outside. Another route would be to put out decorative bee traps. Search for glass bee trap on ebay or amazon.com. I think I saw some at abcdistributing.com, too.
Good luck:-)
