which would you prefer? piercing or tattoo? why?

They are two different things. To prefer one over the other is such a changable answer, it is totally variable. Sometimes I crave a simple change, something I can play with, and dispose of if I wish. And sometimes I want the statement, the life affirming choice, of a tattoo.
I have several of both. Piercings are simple fun to me, even the ones i have had for years. They are immediate gratification when I want to change something, I can add them anytime. I can change the jewelry if I want a new look.
Tattoos are all about permanent statement, decoration, and lifelong commitment to self. They also cost more, most of the time, so they are more of a commitment all the way around.
Its the difference between and affair and marriage.

I love tattoos more but I would get a piercing over a tattoo usually because piercings don't have that lifetime commitment, and I am the most indecisive person in the world. Tattoos are hard for me to get because on top of being indecisive I am a perfectionist. So every little line that's not perfect I notice, and it bothers the hell out of me. I know I have issues LOL : )

I know for a fact that you cannot get a tattoo or belly button piercing in Hawaii by a professional with parent permission until you are 15 so your screwed either way. Unless you go to a backyard piercer or tattoo artist... which i dont suggest. Get something more appropriate for a 13 year old and wait till your 15.

im not sure why but i prefer tattoos so much better then peircings, i think piercings are way to painful, i only have my ears done lol i suppose its weird cause piercings u can take out but ur stuck with a tattoo but for some reson i prefer them lol

I have both tattoos and piercings and I prefer my tattoos because I know they are something I will carry around with me forever. Piercings are nice but I've had a lot of trouble with the aftercare of them especially the scaffold one I have in my ear.

Peircings are fun and are easy to get rid of if you decide you're tired of the look. Tattoos ares awesome if you have something that really means something TO YOU. I cant say which I like better they're kinda too different to compare. I like both. Piercings help accessorize your style, while tattoos are on your skin and tell people a little about who you are.

Tattoos I have seven but only have my ear pieced. Piercings always seemed so surgical to me in a way so they scared me. Besides I love the colors of tattoos........

Tattoos, because they stay with you forever. Piercings can get ripped out or heal over.

i have had a passion for both since i was 5 or 6 years old. I am looking into body mods as a carreer. i really dont think its possible to choose either. they are different things all together... im going to say body peircing though for now just becuase i have so many... tattoos are addicting though once you get 1 you want more lol

Tattoos...I prefer needles entering my skin to leave a permanent mark...and besides, when was the last time someone got a tattoo ripped out in a barfight?
