I am 26 years old and born and raised in Indiana. Going to try to be an officer, if not go enlisted. Will I end up in MInot, North Dakota if I sign up in Minneapolis area?

Thanks for stepping up and serving. Having said that, don't trust your recruiter. Most are very honest, but get everything in writing. I should mention that I am retired from the USAF so I do know a few things. Where you end up depends on what AFSC (your job code) you get (enlisted), (Officers call it something else). Some jobs are available wordwide, others are limited to a few bases. While in basic training you will fill out an "assignment preferance worksheet" (enlisted)...this is also called a dream sheet, cause you are dreaming if you think you will get your first choice. If you want to go to Minot, you have a good chance, as it is not a preffered base by most.

Absolutely not. I signed with a recruiter in San Diego while I lived in La Mesa, CA. As far as your desire to become a USAF officer you need to check into their OTS (Officer Training School) program,. I signed up for the Army OCS program which required a 4 year college degree, completion of basic combat training& OCS.

I suggest that you start getting into excellent physical shape ASAP.

Good luck.

Check with a recruiter and ask which recruitment office will put you in the basic training site you'd like to attend. I know a Marine recruit who travelled 4 hours to cross a state line so he could go to San Diego for USMC boot rather than Parris Island... Smart move, in my opinion!

It matters not at all. You will be sent where the Air Force needs you. Your origin or preference makes little difference.

no... where you talk to a recruiter has nothing to do with where you get assigned. You will fill out a wish list in tech school and if your lucky you will get a duty station you wished for!
