He has been constipated lately... he used to go almost every day, but now is going every other day... (this has been happening for about 8 days)... Today I inspected his feces and it was VERY strange. It looked normal on the outside. But when i actually tried to separate it, it was hard, and the inside was very dry... it was basically the same consistancy has if you were to take dry kibble and mash it up... like very fine, dry, crumbs, all caked together.

what do you think?

also, my dogs behavior has not changed. he is his usual self, so i had no inclination except that he is constipated (which can happen from time to time, without having to worry too much). i just happened to check his stool today.

how does one go about giving a dog more fluids (minus an IV drip?) He has free flowing water... so he has access all day...

In my opinion you should give your dog more fluids and see how that works. And if it dosnt then take your dog to the vet, And see what he or she has to say about it. theres not much you can really do. but you can try. Hope I helped

I would take him and take a sample of his feces with you so the vet can see what exactly you are talking about and give you recommendations on what needs to be done or what is wrong with your dog.

Definitely take him to the vet. Are you sure he is getting enough water?

In this case, better safe than sorry. Has he been drinking enough water?

Good luck!
