I don't know how or when it happened, unfortunately. And I don't have the tooth. It is one on the small two front teeth. He is a chocolate lab.

Will it grow back? Will he need medication? He doesn't seem to complain over it, but I am a bit worried..

At seven years old the tooth will not come back I would take him into the vet to make sure he doesn't have dental disease. At his age this is possible. The vet may suggest a dental cleaning and they may have to pull additional teeth. My Pomeranian is 17 and his started out with losing a tooth here and there, but he ended up having dental disease and because I didn't realize what was going on he had to have all his teeth pulled. So check with your vet on what you can do to stop it from progressing further. They may tell you to start brushing his teeth. I know that sounds weird but it helps. I brush my other dogs teeth three times a week and I also had binding put on my Mastiff's teeth. These all help.

If your dog is a adult then it will not grow back. If he is still a pup then it may have been a milk tooth and it will grow back.
If he is an adult then I would definetly get him into your vet to take a look to make sure it hasn't broken off under the gum line. This can cause an abcess and be very painful to your dog.
I quick check at your vets is in order.
Good luck!

If he is a puppy, around the age of 4 months, then it's normal. He is in the process of getting his permanent teeth.

If he is a older than say a year that you could have a problem. I would suggest seeing a vet if the dog develops irritation or bleeds.

Good Luck!

Is your lab a puppy? Of full grown? Is he old? Does he possibly have gum disease?

If he is a puppy it will grow back if he is full grown he won't grow another tooth.

If his gums look red and swollen, you might to have the vet look at them and possibly get them cleaned.
