I don't know where you live, but try a search engine and look up the United Way website for your area. They should have a list of the social services in your area, along with descriptions of the services that they provide. The Department of Health and Human services in your area should be able to provide you with a list of referrals for agencies in your area that can help you address your immediate needs. Many nonprofit orgianizations offer a broad range of services that include rental, utility, and food assistance. Some will probably help you devise a service plan that lists the goals you want to accomplish and steps you need to take to accomplish them. These agencies can also act as an advocate for you when you attempt to seek treatment for your depression issues. Does your county have a local MHMR (Mental Health and Mental Retardation) office? It can take awhile to get an appointment, but a social worker may be able to help you to obtain an emergency intake session. This agency will usually pay for any medication you might need related to your depression. You might want to consider getting some medication to deal with your depression if it has gotten so severe it hampers your daily life. I know that seeking services can be a challenging and disconcerting process, but if you keep trying, help is available. Your life can get better; you just have to be willing to take some steps to get yourself moving in the right direction. I know that it's difficult to function at any level right now, but you have to be willing to do it. Your survival depends on it. Good luck.

depending on where you live and if you have any sort of community health centers.. check into some assistance there. Have you applied for SSI? Have you seen a health care professional for this condition? You need to talk to some local social services or churches that can help you with some living assistance till you can overcome. and get some help.. do not give up and keep taking things one day at a time. You could try some natural mood changers like GABA which helps the anxiety. Or there is DHEA, Rhodiola. It depends on why or what had brought on this depression. There are so many web sites to help you. I am not a doctor, but have had depression, one thing is that there is always a tomorrow and HOPE,FAITH will continue to be on your side, so hang in there. If you need to talk to someone.. find a church, find somewhere to go.. they have AAA depression meetings in most towns... just get out and do something. Do not dwell on how you feel right now.

First go to your doctor's and get a check up. Take a note with you so you can remember to tell every symptom you have. Learn about the depression. Start thearphy because depression is a real illiness and you need professional help. Join a support group, somebody who has been through it can help you even better.
Even Alternative medicine can help treat depression and is affordable. Walking 30 minutes a day keeps your heart beat up, circulation, and and the chemicals in your body pumping. Depression is the lack of serotonin being produced in the brain. Exercising is the most eassiet way in targetting depression. Just give this a try, exercise for a week. Excersie 5 times a week for 20 -30 minutes a day or 3 times a week.
Here are some articles to prove the correlation between Depression & Exercise:

Focous on your diet too. Eat healthy food that has healthy fat. Add fruits to your diet. Choose good drinks such as V8, caffine, tea or green tea. Cut out all soda and pepsi. Even Diet soda stuff is unhealthy.
Reach out to somebody you trust. Take the first step. If you do not yet feel comfortable reaching out to somebody you trust to ask for help, then call a hotline or find a program that is set up so you can go without anybody knowing. Don't loose everything before you get help. Treat your depression now.

First things first... make sure you get the help and treatment you need to take care of this depression.
I believe if you have reached the point where you can't work because of this, you should be able to get on disability. This can help a bit. Not that they give a lot of money, but it is something.
I wish you the best. =)

Why not treat the depression instead of joining a program and living it-?
If you live in the U.S.A. you can receive help through the local County Health Department, your local Department of Social Services, etc. They can point you down avenues where you can receive treatment if you can not afford to pay.
No one has to live with any form of mental illness. Seek help because there are many good medications which can be life changing.

Social security disablity- i think severe depression would qualify. check into it, also look in the phone book for a crisis hotline number and ask them. You could also try human services (where you would get food stamps etc.) in your local village/town. Get to dialing- help is out there you just need to ask.
Peace and God bless....

I know the feelin, and when I start to slide back into apathy, I make myself get pissedd off at myself, and attack something like a job search, or the like, with extreme focus. It helps me get thru the funk.
Simplify your life down to what's important, and although it sounds too good to be true, going for a walk does have positive impact. Make it a regular thing, even when you don't want to, make yourself do it.

there should be some mental health clinics in your area, if you qualify for state funded treatment programs, u can also qualify for day to day assistance, get on disability if it is severe enough.

Could be early onset Alzheimers. Have him diagnosed by a neurologist about the short term memory loss first and put the sexual stuff second. If he is cleared by a neurologist, have him go to a sexual counselor that counsels only in the area of sexual dysfunction.
