I am Latin - European and I am pro amnesty, if my gran parents had the chance to get in USA from Europe legally and establish citizenship, why shouldn't my Latin side family do the same?
Soon or later the government has to do something about all the illegal people and it is economically impossible to send them all home and some kind of "deal" would me made, maybe not an amnesty but something to at least know where this people are, what they do and give them the chance to pay more taxes, get insurances for their cars, give them proper id, etc ... All in the benefit of social stability inside the US.
Families are being destroyed all over the other countries because illegal people cannot go back to visit their kids and wives or bring them to the US, it is also a moral responsibility of our government to find a final solution as soon as possible.

As a legal immigrant and a US taxpayer, I am against amnesty for illegal immigrants.

Or rather, I am against amnesty for all the illegal immigrants already in the country without immigration reform to make it less ridiculously difficult to immigrate legally. It is really not fair to all the people who would like to enter the country legally, and who are not prepared to break the law to get screwed while everybody who immigrates illegally gets amnesty.

If amnesty is done hand-in-hand with suitable immigration reform, perhaps that would be ok.

Amnesty can be given to those people that came here for legit reasons. E.g. If your country is at war and you had to come here for asylum and there is no safe way for you to go back, like for a while in Rwanda, Liberia, than the government will grant you a legal visa. If you came here for illegal reasons you shouldn't be here and try it the legal way.

Yes...it is too beneficial for corp. America and if this white house has done anything correct its selling out to American corp. I've heard the argument that if the 12m go home that America will not be able to fill the void left behind. What this means is corp. do not want to reduce record profit margins to pay for an American worker who pays taxes and would require health insurance. Amnesty is not fair to Americans or to the individuals who have gone through the LEGAL process to have opportunity to live in America.

No,I dont think there will be any amnesty,At least I hope not since it will be a blood bath if there is.Americans will not take that injustice,we have already givin millions of dollars to Mexico and millions more to illegals in government assistance while our seniors and veterans go without the care they need, enough is enough.

I would like to see some type of law change that would help fix this immigration problem. I find it very difficult to deport all undocumented immigrants (this includes illegals and over stayer's). Something needs to be done. I would hate to be walking around with my US passport or having to go through check points. Could you image that!!!!

If amnesty passes. I guarantee there is going to be a lot of angry ppl out there. Giving amnesty will only add fuel to the flames.

I hope to God there will be no amnesty. I live by the border and see the filth these folks leave behind. They have broken our law right from the get go..... no respect for our country. Send them all back to where they came from. We need to fix America before we can save the rest of the world.

I'm against amnesty because these people are illegal. What if everyone on earth decided to come here? It's almost that way now. You can't give a criminal amnesty.

They are here illegally. Would they offer amnesty to a car thief or a drug dealer, murderer, rapist, They are committing a crime next time you receive a speeding ticket ask for amnesty, Go ahead and deal drugs its all good you will receive amnesty. Its either enforce laws or don't have them.
