Yes it is disgusting my daughter asked me at age ten " mommy why does Aunt @##$% pick her nose and eat it. With my wit I responded with maybe she's hungry and wants a snack lol. however after speaking to a Dr. he suggested that it may be due to an emotional problem or they were never taught that it is unhealthy and disgusting. maybe a chemical imbalance or hey they just might like the taste texture something but at least the person could do it in private. DR said some dont even realize it but I highly doubt it. Hell of a way to get attention dont ya think

Kids pick their nose out of curiosity mainly, which can sometimes lead to it being a habit.

As far as eating it, it's safe to say most children are raised not to litter in the house or wipe food on their clothes or furniture.... same applies with boogies... self disposal unit!

haha

Honestly I don't think they mean to eat it but some kids have the bad habit of picking their noses

It may also be the most nutritional meal they will have all day. Better than McChicks.

Because it's there, and kids feel compelled to try everything. Kids put EVERYTHING in their mouths....yesterday my 2 year old tasted a dandelion.

I really don't know. I used to do it when I was a kid. Good times (joke). I guess it's just something to do. Like chewing your nails.

It's their logical way of disposal since they get into trouble for wiping it on their clothes or the wall.

To see what it tastes like? No tissue handy? Nothing to wipe it on? I'm just guessing here.
