An alien worker married to a US citizen, stay in the island for more than fiften years, the status is still a "IMMEDIATE RELATIVE" ( IR) that's the permit to be able to stay and work and renewable yearly,why not issued them the US passport instead of renewing yearly for thier IR permit status .The question is why not been also implemented here in the CNMI what had happen for those entering from the border illegally and giving citizenship, while, in here enterd legally and documented?

If they want to be a citizen, they have to fil papers.

It's more than just getting a passport. They have to BECOME a citizen of the US first.

Unfortunately my friend that's the law in the CNMI. Did you ask your question to Allen Stayman when he conducted hearings at the Multi-Pupose Bld?
