I am lifting, pushing and pulling furniture. I am a pretty inactive person.

As the others mentioned an industrial back brace is very important. As well as always lift with your legs, never with your back and never lift anything you are not comfortable with alone. As the other RN noted this is usually around 50 lbs. for most people.

Also you should not be pulling at all. This is terrible for your back. Always push using your legs as well as lift using them.

get an industrial back brace, refuse to lift anything more than 50 pounds by yourself. Start getting active to build your endurance.

GET A BACKBRACE!! If you are normally inactive, why would you choose this type of a job??
