Unfortunately, as much as we hate it people are judged by the way they look. Sometimes opinions are negative because envy or disgust depending on how gorgeous (or not) someone is, how big or small, how confident or shy. Misinterpretation of first impressions. I'm always quite pleased when I'm caught out by having a negative opinion of someone and then finding out that actually the person is fantasic. Sort of puts me in my place and reminds me not to judge people without getting to know them whatever they look like.

People base opinions on first impressions and we make first impressions within the first 4 minutes of meeting somebody so that impression sticks and its hard to reverse that because our brain weighed up the situation and decided that the relationship between you and the other person wasnt compatable. First impressions can be wrong and can be changed with time!

Bc it's safe. I ask some questions sometimes bc there are some people that give good advice here and some that don't. If I get judged on this, I don't care bc I don't know them. It's just a way to get an understanding from another person who doesn't know you bc you know they will be truly honest and not taking your side bc they are your friend.

Because the first impression of them is not good. You're not inclined to make the effort to get to know them if you think they are not what you would like to know ... however, I recently discovered that my gut feeling about someone was fairly accurate, they were not what they had seemed.

People tend to go by 1st impressions, and are judgemental. I think we should all be open minded and get to know a person before we comment on them!

I think people have opinions because they like to judge people but they don't like to be judged.Or because people see things different.

It is hard I try not to be judgmental, but I do think that first impressions do make a big difference to how I may react to a person, i.e whether they say hello or not, shows good manners.

I think its because some people listen to what other people say instead of doing it themselves. Or they draw conclusions because they are nervous around that person so they don't know what else to do rather then coming up with assumptions.

They say first impressions count don't they.

I think it can be because of something that reminds you of someone else. Once I really took a dislike to someone I had never spoken to, I assumed he was a **********. He turned out to be one of the nicest people I have met! I think he reminded me of someone else and I was wrong to assume.

Because people make first impressions. Its a fact of life. Thats why you have to work constantly to make good first impressions.

Quit your whining.
