Is this a serious question? Of course it's not right.

OK folks. We have half of the story. Bozeme has it right. Where was the dog and what was it doing? If it was shot for fun then that is totally wrong. But! I used to live in the country where there were people raising cattle and sheep. If they caught a dog on their property chasing their live stock they had a right to shoot them, and they did not use BB guns. I even shot a dog once on my property that was chasing my chickens, but I used a CO2 powered shotgun without enough power to penetrate the skin. It sure scared the crap out of the dog and I never saw it again.

If you really don't know or are just trying to vent, or something, then I'll tell you. Heck no! That is seriously inhumane. Unless they had a good reason, like the dog was causing some sort of threat to them. Please be more specific on why the dog was shot.

Was your dog on your property? If it was running loose, it will get shot. Most people will use any way possible to get the dog out of or off their property.
Be responsible and keep your dog confined or under your control.

Sorta makes you understand why pellet and BB guns shouldn't be allowed to be purchased by kids... now that being said , was your dog roaming illegally? in someone Else's property? ... a BB gun would most likely not cause a broken bone, while a pellet gun could..rather then post here why not contact your local authorities and allow them to do they're jobs?

No it's not right. The person who did this should be charged with cruelty to animals. Was the dog running loose? If so you should be charged with neglect.

Of course it's not right. It's terrible.
But where was your dog when this happened? Was it in your own yard? Or was it running loose on someone else's property? Could it have been bothering someone else's animals or children?

why would you even post a question asking is it right? would it be right for someone to shoot your mom in the leg with a bb gun? think about that statement and you have your answer right there.

Animal cruelty is never okay. You should try to find out who did it and press charges.
