Instead of copying them, try

Insert > Picture > From File

Or Copying but choose Paste special and then choose Bitmapped.

Try this:

Copy and paste the pictures to your C drive and make sure they are in a format like .jpg or similar. Then you should be able to copy and paste them to the slide.

If that dosent work open the powerpoint presentation and at the top of the page go to "insert" then "picture" "from file" and choose the pic you want

If that dosent work

Make sure the "drawing pane" is open at the bottom of your slide screen (right click on the top of the page in the light blue section *next to HELP* and check the drawing box) then click on the insert picture icon and follow the same steps as before.

I hope this works.

Copy pictures to the hard drive instead, then import them.

~Insert picture CD
~START> My Computer> CD drive containing the disk
~Select the pictures
~Click EDIT> Copy to Folder
~Navigate to the destination folder (My Pictures - probably)
~Click the COPY button
