I like this guy and finally asked him out to the movies but i have a strange feeling that i am going to be stood up because his friend told me that he has done this to other girls. I am supposed to go this Fri and my bday is on Sun. Do you think i should cancel the date because i do not want to be stood up or have my feelings hurt a couple of days before my bday. But if he does come i know i will have a great time

ok

I decided to call him and check if he is coming and he said I THINK i will be able to come but i am not sure. SO does this mean that the date is off or is it still on?

I think you should go anyway with the expectation that he will come. If he said yes that's the verbal contract that he'll go. If he stood you up what can you do other than to move on with the notion that he's inconsiderate. Aside from that, don't believe he's any of those things unless it's certain. Who knows his friend might be a manipulator, so you should go anyway. Get to know the facts for yourself. You're birthday will cheer you up either way. It could excel your happiness or put an ordeal behind you.

Nah, you're not being paranoid...but maybe if you are just a little worried that you'll be stood up, you could make it a point to 'remind' him before the date so that you can 'confirm' your plans. That way you are giving him a chance to bow out or to make a commitment to be there. Just call and say, "Hey, I'm looking forward to our date on Friday, did we say 7:30 or 8 pm?" If you're concerned about wasting a Friday night, keep an alternate plan in the back of your mind, just in case. At least then if he does let you down, you will not be spending your evening feeling let down and hurt. Find out where some friends will be that night so you can join them later if he doesn't show. Oh, and Happy Birthday!

Take the chance. I think that if you do not go you will regret that decision for ever. What if he is your Prince Charming? So what if he stands you up. Are you so co-dependent that you define your life by the actions of a man you don;t even really know? Do you lack the self esteem needed to live the life you want and not be relying on whether some swinging penis shows for a date to determine if your B-day will be good? Come on now! Love need to love like you have never been hurt - every time you get hurt. You were able to ask him out then you know you got what it takes to deal with him not showing. Remember this - people do not do things against me, they simply do things for themselves, sometimes I am in the way of their selfishness.

Invite some other friends too. If he doesn't show up, you can mark it off as "he was just one of many" and still have a great time...if he does show up, it can be a group thing for the first date.

he's making an out. Don't expect him.

Without any risk, there is no chance for a reward.

Try it, and see what happens. If you get hurt, you will forget about it once your birthday gets here, and all of your friends come over and make you feel better, so you don't have much to lose anyway.

If you don't have nothing to lose(like u could of ask another guy) I say wait and see if he shows up. It could be that he has ask other girls out and then stood them up instead of the other way around like girls were asking him out and he stood them up. Maybe he likes you and will go.

If you cancel, you will never know if he would have stood you up or not. If he does, you can stop wasting your time with him.

I think you should give him a chance. If he doesn't show up, you can still watch the movie and enjoy it.
