Let's say God does exist and he created the universe. If he created the universe, who created God? i've asked several people and they all say that He just "exists" and that no one created him because he was already there. so if God can just "exist" for no reason, why can't the universe just exist for no reason. (don't you see the logic behind that)OH, AND IF YOUR GONNA ARGUE, GIVE IT YOUR BEST SHOT, BUT U KNOW I'M RIGHT.

o.k, for the people that wrote that god just exists, it's obvious you didn't really read the question. or maybe your brain just can't comprehend "big" words

Everything we observe is in a state of deterioration. Stars are dying, the earth is deteriorating, we get old and die. The entire physical universe is breaking down. Nothing in the physical world is immune. The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. If it all seems to be dying then at some point it must have been 'born'. How? Something or someone above that law must have started it all that is also above this Law. This we call God.

Cheers :-)

Sounds like you're really looking for a legitimate answer here.

Tell me this. Suppose the universe has always existed, and current events are the result of an infinite number of causes and effects. Is that logical?

What is the alternative? That the universe was once in a state of static equilibrium? Then how could any event have functioned as a first cause?

Well, being that we were raised to understand that things are created, I guess it would be hard to understand that GOD always existed. The universe may have always existed. (maybe GOD's way of creating things, mayeb his canvas for creation) but I believe it was created for a reason. I don't think we can use the logic that if GOD always was, so was the Universe. You'd have to say that GOD and the universe are one and the same. But, I think GOD is greater than the universe.

We view the universe and everything in it as being ruled by time. How can something not have a beginning? That's impossible for us to comprehend. But then remember that God made all the laws in the universe including time and space. Somethings are just too big for us to understand and the infinite life span of the creator is just one example. Its a bit like the question of what lies at the edge of space? These things are beyond us.

God lives in a timeless eternity, that means he always was and always will be.That is the true definition of eternity, no beginning and no end. We have trouble grasping that because we are mortal and our minds are too small to grasp the concept of infinity. In the place he dwells time does not flow as man measures it because time, as man reckons it is a man made thing. Our universe is the result of the "Big Bang", according to the latest findings of science and that implies a beginning. Since god is timeless he did not begin living when the universe was born. Look around you, complexity abounds, your body is an electro biological mechanical marvel, a thing that with all the infinite time in the universe could not come to exist by chance...ask any scientist or mathematician worth his salt. So I would suggest to you, keep asking questions, keep learning, for deep within you your soul needs answers, just like all the orphaned souls in the world, past and present. I am a Buddhist who thanks you for the opportunity to have learned.

Is that any more difficult to believe than the opposing theory?

Did the universe always exist? If not, where did it come from? Something from nothing can only happen with God.

Your problem is that you do not understand the concept of God. You refuse to believe that He has always existed, so you have to find a "human" logical answer. When dealing with God, you cannot use human logic to explain Him.

This exact question gets asked at least once a week, and gets answered just as often. I'm tired of answering it, so go do a search and find the answer.

Physical things have to have a beginning, any scientist will tell you that the universe had a beginning. Energy exists forever, again something scientists agree with. The rest I leave up to you to find.

Think of it like this, the equation 2+2=4 has always been around. Although someone didnt DISCOVER it until years ago it always existed. Like that God has always been there who knows wether or not he is real. It is comoforting to know when you die you are going to go someplace nice with god and heaven its something u believe in you dont have to believe in it..i find it offensive you are questioning peoples religion in such a rude way if you were asking that out of curiosity thats a different story..

There are things the human mind just can't understand, because it's too big for us to comprehend. God has always been here, and it's not for no reason. It proves that anything is possible with God. You just have to have faith and believe what the Bible says. God loves you so much and he's done so many things for us. He sent his only son into the world to DIE a horrible, awful death for us, so that all we have to do to get to Heaven is believe in him and love him and confess our sins to him and ask to be forgiven. God is so amazing, and wants you to live in Heaven with him. All you have to do is believe in him and love him. It's a wonderful thing to be a Christian. You always know that someone loves you.

Feel free to e-mail me if you want to talk.
Jesus loves you and God bless.

1. I don't know you're right.

2.If you are testing God at least know that God is considered the almighty creator.

3.I simply do not understand why atheists are always trying to bash other people's beliefs. I do not understand how you guys consider Christians as being so evil as pushing their beliefs on you, but you are the ones that get so stressed, yet you try to do the smae things. for real, get a life.
