They try to, but it usually doesnt work. Miami has a ban on "pit bulls" and they are all over the place! I dont even see why cities/ states do that. It has been proven not to work and you are more likely to get bit by a lab than one of the 3 breeds that people call "pit bulls"...

Pit Bulls are one of the most stable people-friendly dogs in existence. The National Canine Temperament Testing Association tested 122 breeds, and Pit Bulls placed the 4th highest with a 95% passing rate!

Almost everything that people hear about "pit bulls" is false! It is all myths!... People will say, well, the only dogs we hear about on the news, attacking people are "pit bulls"... There are a few things that contribute to the negative stories on the news. As often the case, negative stories always seem to get National coverage, where the positive stories only make the local news. The Media is not always very responsible with their stories! I have seen news reports of a dog attack by another breed and, yet the media had a picture of a pit bull on the TV while reporting this story. I’ve read many stories where the reporter obviously hadn’t done any research, when I asked about their statistics they choose not to reply. Every 10 years or so a new breed of dog is victimized by irresponsible owners, breeders, bad media coverage, and now it’s the pit bull’s turn. In the 70’s it was the German Shepherd, the 80’s was the Doberman’s turn, the 90’s Rottweilers and pit bulls had all the bad press, and now it’s the pit bull’s time to suffer again. And, unfortunately, in a few years it will be another breed that will be in the spotlight. And.. people will say, well it is a fact that "pit bulls" attack more than other breeds... wrong again! the statistical data on dog bites and attacks are inaccurate. Many dog bites are never reported. There is nothing in place to track dog bites in the US accurately. There are 25+ breeds that are commonly wrongly identified as pit bulls, Those of us who have been involved with the breed for years have trouble identifying them 100% of the time, so, we certainly can’t expect inexperienced people to be able to properly ID a dog. That said, it leads us to believe that many of the bites that claim to be from pit bulls are in fact, inflicted by other breeds.

I mean I could go on forever! Banning these so called "dangerous" breeds wont fix anything! It will just cause a false sense of security! Its like putting a wet bandaid on the problem! If you look at the FACTS instead of believeing all of the crazy MYTHS it makes no sense at all to ban "pit bulls!"

But anyway, to answer your question... yes they try to enforce them, but no it doesnt really work!

Yes, and if they don't catch you because the dog is well-hidden, and it bites someone, you are liable under the law for intentional injury inflicted on another (along the lines of vehicular homicide or aggravated assault). That is a real stiff fine, a little jail time, and the dog is put down immediately.

Yep, when I was moving the city I was moving to had a ban. Before they would accept my dogs they made sure that they were not from any of the breeds that were restricted, and if they were they wouldn't lease the apartment to me.

several places as soon as the ban was enacted, AC went door to door & confiscated & killed all they could find. In some areas they gave 48 hours for them to be gone

yes they do, most of the time they only come out once you are reported by a neighbor or they see out and about with your dog. also most insurance company's will not issue you insurance on homeowners if you have a pitbull or Rottweiler.

Yes! Mainly because of the the amount of injuries that have happened to children and other pets because of them.

Usually not, until they bite someone, then you had better have good insurance. And if they kill someone, you might find yourself in jail. Choose another type of dog.
