I gave birth on new years eve, almost five months ago. Not that I'm complaining, but my period hasn't returned yet. When does it usually come back?

Also, we've been talking about trying for a boy (the first one was a girl). How can I tell when I'm ovulating if I don't have a period?

IF you are still breastfeeding then you might not get your period until after you stop breastfeeding. I stopped breastfeeding at 8 months and then got my period 6 weeks later and then got pregnant right after that. You might want to wait until your baby is a little older. It is hard having 2 babies in diapers.

First of all you need to go to the Dr and get yourself checked, it's not normal not having your period for such a long time. You should buy an over the counter pregnancy test just to be on the safe side. If you want to know when you ovulating you should take your oral temperature every morning before you get up(your temp. will be the same everyday unless you ovulating), when you ovulating your temp. will change. Let's say your temp every morning in 98.3 when you ovulating it might say 98.8,98.6,98.7. Something like. GOOD LUCK!

You probably need to contact your ob/gyn doc on this one.
You should have had bleeding for 4 to 6 weeks after your delivery then period should have started back the very next month.

You are ovulating when you see thick mucus that stretchs when you hold it between your fingers....I know if sounds strange, but it's true.

hey hey hey! it really depends on the person, you can have it weeks or months later. your body is going thru so many changes that your period gets off track. your doctor should have given you information about your periode after having your baby. it took me 2 mths and then when i did have it i stayed on it for a month and 2 weeks! good luck!!!
