This question is in relation to a school project about mixing colors. I've looked at some books , but they mostly assume the presence of the color blue already. If I'm doing a watercolor painting, can I create the color blue from scratch? Thanks for your help!

Color blue like yellow and red is a primary color, that means that you can't mix other colors to make it. Primary colors can be mixed to get other colors or shades or tints of them. White is a tint and black is a shade, black and white are not colors . I hope it helps.

Not by mixing. Blue is a primary color. You can make your own blue paint from scratch, if you want to, but that's it.

plant dyes and cobalt blue. Look to inks and solutions from a range or organics, metals, etc. but mixing might be difficult for a primary color
