I have two and love the chi/terrier combo. The male is about 12lbs and the female is 10lbs but should be 9lbs, so she is a bit overweight. The male has the personality of a chihuahua, a bit skittish and a high squeaky bark. The female is like a rat terrier, very brave, ready to take on anyone. The female will stare down and challenge the biggest dog and truly believes she will win any fight with her fierce lowpitched bark. The male will do the same provided there is a fence seperating he and the big guys. Both are very active and fun, but when they want affection, they will cuddle for hours. Love them both! Get a second one, you won't regret it as they keep each other entertained. By the way, both were rescues and 'unadoptable' (yeah right), because of their very active and fierce personalities.

Well that's kind of tough, chihuahua usually are under 10 pounds, and rat terriers are a bit bigger. I think max she could be 15-18 pounds, but most likely around 10. A picture might help if you have one. What does she weigh now, that will help too.

I have a Chihuahua, Rat Terrier mix and he is 19 lbs. My guess is which genes are dominate. Mine does not look like a Chihuahua except for the slightly bulging eye.

It great that you resuced your dog from a shelter. Both breeds are small so she shouldn't get very big. Probably 10-20 lbs would be my guess.

I exceptionally advise waiting till the two your babies are previous the infant age. this is one component in case you already had a canines earlier the youngsters got here alongside, yet babies may well be very very difficult on canines and that's the time while many canines in worry might bite. infant's organic instinct is stare at canines interior the eyes and pull and hug all of that are no longer organic to a canines. finally, i might exceptionally advise going to a good breeder that temperament tests their breeding canines and will improve them interior the homestead with babies and arranged till they are sufficiently previous to appreciate a canines limitations. or choose for breeds that are traditionally universal for being infant tolerant.
