My fiance and I are getting married Sept. 2008. We are having trouble agreeing on colors. My favorite color is light blue but he doesn't want that. I also want somthing bright and pretty but he doesn't. They only combination we agreed on was gold and cream. Does anyone else have any other suggestions? Thanks!

I personally think some great fall colors are cream, chocolate brown, and maybe the splash of your color could be sage green, marigold, or burgundy. Think jewel tones. Something very deep and rich.

I think the best way to see what your finace will like as well is to give him examples of the actual colors, he's probably thinking it's going to be to girly! I'm getting married this August and my colors are orange and pink and my fiance was freaking out thinking everything was going to be pink! If you give him a visual, picking colors will be much easier for the both of you.

Also, you can do light blue, but to me white, light blue, and navy would be winter colors. Still very pretty.

I had colors for every season, so hopefully I can help more if you need it.

Gold and cream seem a lovely combination for Fall.
Seems like you both came to a good agreement.
Fall colors are red, orange, brown, green and yellow.
Red might be too bright, also yellow might be too bright.....unless you both love bright colors.
If you can get a paler shade of yellow and brown it may be a acceptable combination. We had a wedding last Fall at our church. The flowers were like sunflowers and other shades of yellows, white and brown. The groom wore a Western shirt with a white background and a sunset scene across the top of the shirt with silhouettes of (black) horses. Blue jeans. The bride wore jeans too with a white frilly blouse. It was a Western theme and oh, so lovely! So, I would say the colors could be yellows, orange (maybe a lighter shade of it), brown and white. You might one to get some samples or pieces of small fabric with the colors you choose and put them on the table and decide which goes best with which. It is a matter of personal choice and taste. All the best and congratulations!

I got married last October and went with fall colors. My bridesmaids dresses were a rustic red/orange. REALLY pretty. My flowers were all sorts of fall flowers and colors; golds, yellows, bascially any jewel tone shade. I got a lot of compliments on not doing a traditional color scheme!

Try to find colors in nature for the month you're getting married in. It's the most natural feel to a wedding. Ruby reds and deep greens are coming into season where I live in the Northeast at the time. Also, coppers and oranges. You could even be bold and do a deep jewel blue (my favorite color!).

I also had a neat way of presenting table settings. I bought little paper leaves and printed the names and table assignments in gold font on a clear label. I put the label on the back of the leaf and spray painted the back in gold glitter. We then hung all the leaves on a small woody tree. People loved it!

My cousin had a beautiful fall wedding and compromised with his wife by having her bouquet in reds, golds, a little purple, yellow, orange, etc. By using bright colors as an accent and having the bridesmaids wear more muted matte-golden gowns it made a wonderful combination. I like the idea of keeping the large portion of colors subtle, but have fun with the flowers and with jewelry.

Gold and cream is a good start. Maybe you could throw some colors together, like in a display, bouquet or collage, and show him how nice they look together. Sounds like he's afraid of color. Mocha and teal (in all shades) look just gorgeous (and are quite popular right now! ) with gold and cream. If you presented it to him like that, he may be more agreable to your wishes.

How about mixing light blue and brown? That will give it an autumn feel while still using your favorite color. How dare he say no to that?!

We're using burnt orange and salmon and then we're going to use yellows and other fall colors in the folowers.

chocolate and loden green. loden is a lighter green than mint and you can add some cream. bridesmaids dresses can be chocolate with cream sash around the waist, tied with a bow in the back. flowers can be sweetpea tied with cream and loden ribbon. good luck
