if you still had feelings for an Ex but He/She was with someone else, is it good to still remain friends with them in case things go bad with their current relationship you can already be there, (Not saying you're waiting around and passing up on other people that might be interested) but you still remain in their lives Hoping, Is it best to remain friends?

I would say it is best to cut any ties and start afresh. Its no good staying in someones shadow hoping that one day things will change because chances are they wont and you could just end up more unhappy.

I think that once a relationship has been broken up once, there is never a chance of getting it back to the way it used to be. I wouldnt suggest being close friends though, thats like torturing yourself. I would keep it strictly phone friends if it were me,even if that.

Damn, are you talking about me or what? I am in the same situation and I am trying my hardest to be friends with him while he is dealing with someone else...I am not wishing any ill wills on their relationship, but it does hurt a little to see or even hear about the other person. I am trying to prove to him I have changed and if it means I have to listen to him complain about the one his with and give him my honest opinion even if it means it's going to repair whatever problem they are having, so be it...

But if its meant for us to be together we will...I will patiently wait, but I wont pass up going out with someone just because I pining over someone else.

So to answer your question, yes I would be friends with the person
