I don't have one on my neck but I want one on my neck. I am going to get a real job, I'm going to be a teacher. I think it's easier for women with at least shoulder length hair to get neck tattoos or tattoo artists because women can cover it up easily enough and an artist well it's their job already. There shouldn't be any reason that having a neck tattoo should hinder you as long as you are willing to cover it if possible like wearing collared shirts and hair down, so forth. There isn't any reason why someone can't get a REAL job. Depending on what you consider a real job. To me a real job is a job that you go to on a regular basis, get paid for your time and have chances to excel and pay legal taxes for it. A small job like part time is a real job. There are way too many stereo types out there about how tattoos and peircings will keep someone from excelling in life. I say prove them wrong and get a better job while having tattoos and piercings.

Yes, I do have a tattoo on my neck.
I also have a real job.
Getting a tattoo is a choice. placement of tattoo is also a choice. If I have chosen to do so in a place most clothing does not cover, that IS MY CHOICE. I am fully aware of how some people will decide that my doing so is an indication that I am;
-a freak
-irresponsible
-immoral
-of questionable values
-harming my body/mutilating my flesh
-untrustworthy
-choose any thousand of negative descriptives
Looking at me and judging me by my tattoos is your choice. I am aware that many white collar positions will be unavailable to me because of my tattoo choices. There are also many jobs out there that are available to me, without regards to my tattoos. I very deliberately prefer to work in a job where my tattoos are remarkable because they are a part of me, not because it makes me some how bad (see above list).
I am a 31 yr old woman. I lead a boring life. I quilt. I read prolifically. I rescue cats. I bake cookies and brownies for my coworkers and neighbor kids.
I ride motorcycles. I paint odd pictures. I think differently than you in some ways.
get beyond your limited thinking. the world is amazing.

Yes , I have a tattoo on my neck along with several other tattoos and I do have a real job... I am a medical professional. However, I feel what's under my uniform and under my hair has nothing t do with my professionalism. And apparently my patients don't mind either as I don't perform my job nude.

Yes I have a tattoo on my neck, and yes I have a real job. I work as an accountant and never had a problem with it.
Do you think you could be more ignorant?
If you don't like tattoos don't look. And if you don't have anything nice to say, keep your mouth shut. Didn't your mother teach you manners?

A teacher at my son's school has a butterfly on the back of her neck that you can see because she usually wears a ponytail. The girl that does my nails has one on her neck. I don't but these two females have real jobs.

A person with a neck tatt likely would own thier own business or work in a field where it is not that big of a deal. Tattoo shop being one, head shop, machine tool shops and really if the owner of a business doesnt care then what does it matter?
It depends on what you define a real job.
I am inclined to think you are picturing a little cubicle and such.
Not for everyone.

Yes, I have one on the back of my neck and have for 3 years (not to mention one on my ankle for 5 years, and one on my back for 4 years). No one at my job even notices it and I work with children, which is a more observant population than most adults. Tattoos may be an artistic expression of a point in a person's life, of his/her beliefs, etc, but they should not be considered a label for what that person is capable of. That is judgmental and ignorant.
