Respectfully, your question may reveal more about your own attitudes. Why do you feed that "suits" think they are "better" than casual dressers?
As someone whose job often requires a suit, I suggest that what you may perceive as a supercilious or condescending attitude may, in fact, be envy that they would like to be able to dress casually as you do.
I suggest that you may be feeling "inferior" for some reason when dealing with someone wearing a suit. No need to, a suit is often a type of uniform. Many jobs make more sense to wear t-shirts and jeans. Your attitude and how you treat others is much more important than what clothes you wear.

Well, clothes make the person. It is the first impression you make when meeting someone. Is it fair to make rash judgements based on appearances? Absolutely not. Does it happen none-the-less? Certainly.
It also depends what type of work you do. If you're the only one wearing casual clothes while everyone else is wearing business professional...that could be a problem (unless you own the company).
If you have someone that has that type of snobbish attitude and they are soliciting your business...you CAN choose to not do business with them. Plain and simple.
It doesn't seem like that big of a deal...looks like someone just rubbed you the wrong way today.

It's a fact of life that people judge by appearances. Every piece of attire has a connotation. A suit suggests that somebody is competent and successful. This may not always be true, but those pieces of cloth give off that sort of strength and confidence.
Likewise, the stereotype of a person in t-shirt, jeans and a baseball cap is one of an individual that is not destined for success, and bears a chip on their shoulders towards their suit-wearing counterpart. Since you say this is not you, then don't sweat it.

same reason that a woman with a fresh dye job and cut thinks she's better then the women who just got out of a long day at work and has the hair to prove it . . .stupidity.
I've seen many wealthy people in jeans and they're just nice laid back guys. Some people like to play the part by dressing up because they need the validation and cannot be content unless everyone knows they are not dirt.
it's really a mental thing more than a materialistic one.

I wear a suit to work because it is part of the business culture I am in. I envy those that get to dress more casually for work. But the way you phrased your question makes me wonder if you think just because you make more money then someone else that makes you better. If so I think you should look at the reason you feel that way, and then you have the answer to your own question.

We don't think we're better but I would not in trust a million dollar deal with a man wearing jeans, tshirt and a baseball cap. You've got to look the part. If you don't look like you've put some thoughts into your appearance why would we think you've put some thoughts into your project. You should try wearing a good suit at least for your best clients, you'll see it's very empowering. I'd love to come to work in my gym clothes but I don't think I will inspire authority and trust if I do.

Dillards is a good place to look. I was in there yesterday looking for my flower girl dress and walked past the section with suits and dresses. They have many that would be casual and comfortable and fall below the knee!

I agree with 'randomcobweb.'
I wear a suit because I have to for my line of work. I don't feel better than anyone else. It's just the uniform, so to speak, that I'm required to wear to my job.
If anything, by the way you posed your question, I wonder if you feel that you're better because you make "99% more" than the "idiots."

It's all about appearances. I think most people feel more confident, more professional in a suit than in jeans.
Me, I hate suits, I'm much more productive in jeans & flipflops, where I'm comfortable and focused on work instead of how I look. But I'm a weirdo. Most people I know like to put on their armor before they go to work. :)

I think some people pay too much attention about what to wear than the important things of life and probably spend too much money ( they can't afford ) trying to portray a certain image. I guest it could be AN EGO TRIP.
