Or would a just God create a law and then judge his creation by how much they strove to obey him and the commands ?

Then by his mercy he would overlook their weakness and give them according to the BEST of their works.

This last description fits in with the OT and today.

Those who say God created us and then gave us a law that we cannot fulfill (as if he doesnt know what he creates) and therefore we cannot be with him in Paradise so he has to create some excuse for our forgiveness is describing an unjust manmade theory.

This concept does not fit in with the OT nor the thousands of years of revelation before Jesus. If there was a GREAT need for a son to be sacrificed then the OT would be full of NOTHING but stories of people asking why they are born in a time that gives them a disadvantage and therefore the free will and test is unfair.

This last concept is what Islam says.

The God of Islam is the same God as the OT but not the Trinity of the NT.

Your Idea of just is is WRONG! The God of the Old Testament is a righteous God. The first book of Moses the first scripture God passed down to us describes in detail man's fall from glory and the fact that sin equals death and that man that could not live up to the law. Read Genesis the story of Adam and Eve. Moses passed this scripture to man it was the first scripture God gave us, Adam was placed in the Garden and was told he could eat freely of all the trees of the Garden but of the tree in the midst of the Garden The tree of life he should not eat because in the day he eats of it he would surely die. Understand there were two trees in the midst of the garden one tree was the tree of knowledge of good and evil the other tree was the tree of life. These are the two natures of God...the tree of knowledge of good and evil represents God's righteousness The law. The other tree was called the tree of life This tree represents God's grace and salvation through Jesus Christ. Why would eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil kill man? Because it is the law and man could not live up to God's righteousness because man was imperfect and as the Bible tells us sin causes death.
The other tree was the tree of life if they eat of this tree they will live forever, God had a plan of salvation for his creation he foreknew man would fall form his glory. This plan was Jesus Christ and the atonement. Jesus said I am the true Manna from heaven eat of me and you will live forever. God is a rightoeus God and he tells us the wages of sin is death but he also knew that man had a sin nature and would fall and he had a plan for man saving him from the peanlty of death...Now how could yous ay the God of the Old testament was righteous and this is not his plan? he is righteous and this is the only way as Christ himself did say no man comes to the Father but through the Son.
The Qu'ran teaches the same as the serpent told Eve You shall not surely die...Satan tells us God is not righteous and he will simply overlook sin and call that which is not holy righteous and good. This is the first lie of Satan to man and this lie is told again in the Qu'ran.

If the Allah of the Qu'ran is the God of the Old Testament why is the Quran in agreement with Satan? Why does the Qu'ran not tell this story as Moses passed it down? The Old Testament God is the God of Abraham who believed in the atonement and had prophesy of the atonement when God directed him to sacrifice Issac...Abraham named the place Jehova jireh which means the lord will provide becase it is where he said The lord will provide himself a lamb.
The Old Testament teaches the atonement and Isaiah did prophesy the coming of the Lamb of God who would atone for sin with his blood. Jesus was in agreement with these prophets and the word of God and did say he would fufill this prophesy of Isaiah The New Testament is in agreement with the God of Abraham and Isaiah and does agree with these words and prophesies...the Qu'ran is not in agreement with this God or these prophets but is clearly in agreement with the Serpent who said ye shall not surely die. why if the Allah if Islam is in agreement with the Old Testament why does it change his words? why not print the word of God as Moses passed it down?....because Muhammad did not know the God that Moses gave up scriptures from and Muhammad did not know the God of Abraham.. Muhammad was not in agreement with Isaiah nor with John the Baptist who said behold the Lamb of God! He was not in agreement with Jesus who said no one comes to the Father but through the Son and who said he would fufill the prophesies of Isaiah 53.
Teh atonement is not unfair to anyone but your understanding is undermined by reading the words of Satan. Abrham knew Christ we have that in the Old Testament also and thoise before the aotnement are still covered by the atonement Christ did die for all sin not simply the sin that followed his resurrection,.

Your question is would an unrighteous God create a law that could not be fufilled? The answer is a righteous God created an law that was fufilld by a righteous God the only one who could fufill the law. Our lord and savior Jesus Christ.

It was man that chose to sin and separate himself from God. God had designed us to be with Him. Although we are imperfect and in our imperfection cannot be with God, He loves us so much that he as built a bridge to close off the gap between us and Himself through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Could a truely just God allow for unjust undeserving people to be with him? No, He must have standards for what is acceptable. Those rules are what strive for and by pursuing perfection we are able to become better people.

It's not so much the getting it right the first time every time as much as it is about tyring your best each day to lead a life that Jesus would have.

Jesus said that the god of Moses was satan. The christian church did not like what jesus said so they excluded it from their bible. The text where Jesus said this is called The Apocryphon of John. read and choose for yourself whether to believe Moses or Jesus. They cannot both be right.
