What is a good amount to give to a niece who is graduating high school. I don't want to offend her , or break the bank, so what is the average amount most people give? Thanks.

2 of our kids have graduated and they received $100 so I think for a niece $50 would be good. However I also believe if you are close to her it would be nice to be anywhere between $50 and $100. Also keep in mind you don't have to give cash. If there is someplace she loves to shop or eat gift cards are a great way to go these days using the same $$ guidelines above.

I just graduated last year and most of the people I know gave me at least $20. My brother and my boyfriend's mom both gave me $50. And I think my one aunt gave me $100, altho they can afford to give me that much. It all depends on where you're at financially. I was happy to just get $20 from everybody. It all adds up.

I guess it depends on how close you are to her. I'd give at least $100. If you have to travel somewhat far, I think $75 would be acceptable.

$50 family. $35 friend.
When the kids go to their friends, only $10. They hop from party to party.

It would depend on how close you are. Is she planning on going to college? Give her at least $50.

I would sy that depends on how much money you have and how close you are to this niece, we gave my nephew $50.00 but last year we gave my cousin $100.00. We are much closer to him than the nephew.

I would think $50 should be plenty...My aunt gave me $25 (granted 12 years ago) but it still seems ample. How close are you?

50 dollar gift card sounds better than 50 dollars cash!
