Because they think us Atheists are immoral, and therefore not deserving of good things. Wouldn't it just burn their butt to know that good things still happen to this "immoral" godless Atheist.

It depends on what you call "Good Things". A christian believes that even BAD things work together for GOOD for those who love the Lord and are the called according to His purpose. So that means that a Christian will find the "good" in things that an unbeliever would treat as the end of the world. Like cancer, or a child dying or getting evicted or losing a job. The Christian will try to see the positive in everything because they dont believe that the events of their life are just cause and effect, random chance, or "human nature" in an evolutionary sense.

If you believe that everything that happens in life is meant to teach you something, to mold you into a better person, to prepare you for something later, then you will view your life as less tragic and thusly..that more "good things" happen to you-as Christians are taught to believe.

Not sure, as a Christian I have never read anywhere in the Bible that Christianity makes things easier for people. As I recall, it's the exact opposite. Things get tougher by being a Christian and accepting Jesus into your life. All things considered, however, some discomfort here on earth is a small price to pay for an eternity in heaven with God.

I have never heard anyone say that, where do you guys come up with these questions? Maybe people are thinking good things are happening to Christians because we do walk around with the Joy Of The Lord!! Despite our hardships we have hope of eternal life and that is a good thing!

For the same reasons non religious people might in your mind say that more good things happen to Atheists than Christians.

I myself don't think most people of either group bother to think in these terms.

Because if you repeat a lie often enough, people will start to believe it. Of course, this is a joke, because most Christians are not lying or not telling the truth, at least not on purpose. They've been indoctrinated into believing that Christianity is undoubtedly true, despite all else.

In all seriousness, it's a PR thing--marketing. Christianity looks better when you have Christians talking about how happy they are being Christian, right? They're testimonials. But that sure doesn't make Christianity any more valid, by virtue of the fact that there is no shortage of testimonials for stuff like Avacor (scam treatment for baldness), Enzyte (scam penis enlargement pills), and Head On (everyone's favorite placebo for headaches (it's 98% WAX, people--might as well draw on your forehead with a crayon)).

because they're brainwashed into thinking it's true. bad things happen to good people, good things happen to bad people regardless of their religion or lack thereof.

just as they're brain washed into thinking that not being a christian makes you a bad person who steals, rapes and murders.

the funny thing is some of the nicest, kindest people I know are atheists. One of them even runs an animal charity.

I have never said that.

I would not know. I mean people of the faith, are constantly being tested and tempted by Satan to fall, so in retrospect bad things happen to us more.

maybe they secretly desire to go back to the "world",but in the same time they think they will rott in hell if they do so,so the little dumb solution is to convince themselves there's nothing good in the"world" and that the non-christians are all unhappy...so,then it's a little bit easier on them and their inner conflict.
