Well, while I do agree that Al Gore is a complete hypocrite, and I can't stand him, I do think that he has made some positive impact in making people aware of the need for alternative fuels and the dangers of pollution, including the pollution that comes from individuals rather than corporations. I think he'd make a higher impact however if he were more responsible himself. Many people simply discount the need for conservation simply because it's self proclaimed poster boy doesn't bother to do anything himself.

Al gore purchases Co2 credits which isnt a perfect program but it goes towards the cause of reducing C02 levels. He also buys green energy to power his home. One person in this country with a 10,000 square foot home addressing waste will not do anything for global warming or pollution. its the other 300 million of us who need to band together and push for green energy, efficiency and a hydrogen economy where all factories and businesses are efficient and creating much less waste. Yes it is important to practice what you preach but right now there arent many options to become energy efficient or independant. we must encourage different building codes and standards in america that do not allow ten to twenty thousand square foot homes on hundreds of acres. this practice wastes many resources and allows for suburban sprawl which is only adding to the issue of global warming.

Al Gore uses carbon offsets to address his energy consumption. This means he pays money to funds that are then used to decrease CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by planting trees or buying alternative energy etc. Furthermore he pays more per month for his energy usage to purchase some of his energy from renawable resources.

Al Gore made a statement several years ago that he does not have to be green because of all he does for the environment. WHAT A HYPOCRITE!

The eco-marxist religion is clearly agenda driven. It lacks scientific validity. It is a "belief" not fact.

One fact they have correct, the earth's mean temperature has risen 7/10s of 1 degree over the last hundred years. That is the end of their factual evidence.

There is no evidence it is human caused.

Here are two websites that contain a large compendium of valid scientific climate information.

http://www.junkscience.com

Any time the word "BELIEF or BELIEVE" enters the conversation think "RELIGION". It is cult of epic proportion. The only way to deprogram yourself or others is with facts and understanding.

I am a lifelong student. when I first heard of "Global Warming" I recall in my environmental studies in college the "prevailing" wind was around a new Ice Age.

With certainty climate changes, and has been doing so for 4.6 billion years. Sometimes quickly sometime slowly.

Man is inherently narcissistic and our cultural shapers have found ways to manipulate this for the purpose of gaining power.

The validity of IPCC report fails based on inadequate peer review, Most of the supposed 2500 scientists involved are saying the content of the report is NOT what they recommended of even wrote.

What we can do about it? nothing. Don't believe it. Use your common sense. If there is money involved, someone's pocket will be lined.

Al Gore's is definitely one of the primary pocket liners of the ecomarxist religion. He makes Jimmy Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart of the JEEEZZUS channels look like rank amateurs.

he does not care about the environment he cares about his own power, pocket and control.

It is the nature of the beast... celebrities and others that wield power have a louder media voice. They are the ones that get attention... but in addition they travel by bus and plane, they live in big secure houses, and have a high consumerism lifestyle. It is not for us to judge who is making the most change and finger point. I do not believe that Al Gore is looking down on the little man in the suburbs with an SUV and shaking his finger. There are bigger and more important problems, industry problems (big oil, updating and rebuilding) and government problems (Kyoto Protocol).

because he is just that-- a hypocrite. I read in the paper a few weeks ago that it cost $500 a month to heat his pool... I find it (almost) hilarious that this environmentalist are preaching at conventions to the general public about "saving the planet" but they fly across the country in separate private jets.. These are the same people that want to "hug" aka "save" a tree but say that it's okay to kill innocent babies by means of abortion!

i feel all he is doing is great but just one big publicity stunt and if he had got into office he would never have made any environmental changes and would have held the same beliefs as george bush. An yes i believe he should make his own life style carbon neutral before telling others to do so

Maybe he should, but that does not mean his message on global warming is incorrect. He has prospered in life and like a lot of people who have done well he lives well--but do not take that as some kind of excuse or reason to let this planet die because of global warming.
