I participated in a book challenge with a friend I made on YouTube. She had been previously been challenged to read The God Delusion so I had her read "Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn. She had us both read "The Jesus I Never Knew" by Philip Yancey.
I'm about 50 pages in and it's one straw man arguement after another. The book doesn't seem to be targeted towards atheists, but doubting "bad" Christians.
One of the central themes seems to be re-examining the significance of Jesus dying on the cross which is something I found somewhat strange. As an atheist, I can see the significance of the story, but I just don't think it happened.
I suspect that most books like this are written for the kind of people who take it for granted that Jesus died for our sins.

2.Bible Prophecy 101 by Bruce Bickel and Stan Jantz.
3. Jerusalem Countdown by John Hagee, This is a very good book about the things that are happening right now that people need to realize before its too late.

Left Behind would be a great novel but remember there is a long list of novels that continue the story. Jerusalem Countdown deals with the basis of the Christian faith and what comes ahead for us. I am a believer but I have had my struggles with temptation to sin. Just like every other person on this Earth but trust and him and you will be saved! As Jack Van Impe, TV pastor and Biblical prophecy teacher once said as have many millions of followers of Christ...
"Come quickly, Lord Jesus!"

That's a tough one. It's really the Holy Spirit's job to work in the regeneration of someone's life, but certainly God can speak to us through books. I would have to say The Case for Christ, by Lee Strobel. That's a pretty good one.

The Case for Faith by Less Strobel ( i'm not sure the last name is spelled correctly ). I'm not saying all the contents are exactly true but it gives a very good idea of what you should have faith in and things like that.

Even though it was rejected from the christian bible, it is inspired by God. The Apocryphon of John. Moses and Jesus can not both be right, you be the judge.
