They're called bashers and trolls. Most of them seem to be under the age of 15, hence the immaturity of some of their questions and responses. The mature, intelligent atheists don't usually wander into this section, so we get the bottom of the barrel bashers and trolls. Ignore them and feel some pity for them, anyone who spends so much time doing nothing but bashing the beliefs of others has some serious mental and/or emotional problems.
Proof? Just look at the responses, mostly atheists. Then ask yourself if you didn't believe, would you be in this section? Of course not. I keep hear how we're trying to convert them, but I've never tried to convert anyone in my life. They say we're telling them they're going to hell, I've never done that either, I'm not God. They have a lot of excuses, but the truth is that they're bored, empty people who are wasting their time here for the pleasure of bashing. Why is it fun? Not a clue. I'm not talking about pagans (who do believe in something), or muslims, jews, buddists, hindu's, etc., we all are interested in religion/spirituality, its the atheists who have no religion, nor believe they even have spirits, who are the rabid ones, here only to bash. Some are under the impression this is a debate board, which of course anyone with half a brain knows its a question/answer board, but apparently these people are intimidated by real debate boards, (people actually argue back there, they get as many posts as they want), so we get the immature, childish basher babies. Lucky us.

How do you know that most non-believers bash christians. It's just the noisy annoying ones that are doing it and giving us a bad name. Why didn't you love people of other colors then, not so long ago. I have had my beliefs made fun of. I have been bombarded with your beliefs, and I rarely eet anyone who "loves" everyone as you say. They are afraid of me. (Athiest) They think I am a devil worshiper, which I can't be, I don't believe in the devil. They think I am a way for satan to get to them, which I don't understand seeing as there are people who will have known me for a long long time before they realize I'm not religious. Christians are just as bad at bashing as everyone else out there. Don't think that just because they are christian that they are nicer people. Your question is a lie. I don't push my beliefs onto others. Everytime I have someone try to convert me, I let them know it's not gonna happen, but I don't try to tell them to be like me. I respect their beliefs though I don't agree with them, and I never talk to them about mine. Why can't they do the same? I have never met a religious person who has.

Some Christians do bash other beliefs and in turn, non-Christians fire back. It would be a lot easier if people just stopped bashing each other.
There's nothing wrong with challenging someone's belief and asking questions about it (it's called inquiry). However, if it turns to mockery and such, then it's unacceptable.
As a Christian myself, I refrain from labeling and mocking those with worldviews that are different from my own.
There will always be extremists from each side (i.e. the late Jerry Falwell, atheist writer Sam Harris, etc.) but we need to love and pray so that God would open their hearts. Love the sinner, hate the sin.

I think that some non-Christians are frustrated that some Christians cannot make a real argument, while at the same time I am frustrated that the definition of a "real argument" in non-Christians' minds sometimes precludes incorporating any values that stem from a worldview that is based on the Bible. To your "position on Gay Marriage" - I think that a position can be taken, but generally think that that is a waste of time with non-Christians and even some Christians. I think that if Christians put as much efforts into their relationships and marriages as they put into protesting and bashing gays as *some* Christians do, then we would - by our actions and amazing marriages - model it; we'd walk the talk, instead of having the *same* divorce statistics that declared non-Christians have. If Christians divorced at an order of magnitude LESS than the general populace, then I think we'd earn the right to be heard. As it stands with NO DIFFERENCE in divorce rates between Christian and non-Christian couples, we have *no legs to stand on* and, therefore, have not earned the right to criticize others' marriage, since we don't have anything better to offer.... EDIT: Christians need to examine themselves - in this case collectively - and "get our own house in order"/"Not throw bricks in glass houses"/"take the log out of our eye, before we worry about the speck in anothers'".... (Blue eyes - can I add you - we wrote the same thing at almost the same time!) EDIT #2: If verbalizing a stance becomes a stumbling block, then I think that Christians have to err on the side of caution and wait until the right time. For an issue as explosive as gay marriage, "the right time" (or season) would include but not be limited to: 1. An amazing rock solid marriage of your own (and, by "rock solid" I mean a marriage where grevious hurt, harm and lies have been perpetrated by one part against another, and **FORGIVENESS AND HEALING** have truly taken place); 2. A DEEP relationship with homosexuals that could see what amazing relationships and marriage you have; and 3. A homosexual ASKING you about what makes your relationships and marriage so amazing. THEN, when you answer, follow St. Peter's advice: "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with GENTLENESS AND RESPECT, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander." - 1 Peter 3.15a-16

Come on. I am a Christian, and I have seen just as much bashing from Christians as non-believers. I can't not believe you even wrote this after some of the things I have read that other so called Christians have wrote about other religions and non-believers. Get a grip. There are a bunch of cry babies in both groups of individuals.

your right you dont make fun of other beliefs you simply condemn them.
I cannot tell you how many times I have seen when someone asks a question about Wicca that they get answers from Christians that say witchcraft is evil and only Jesus can save you. When that had nothing to do with the question.
Or if someone asks a question about Islam they are attacked with lines saying Islam is the spawn of Satan.
I have also seen when someone asks about Judaism they get answers that say Jews rejected Jesus and are thus unsaved.
So please do not come to me saying that you are being bashed.

Okay, I just had to answer this one. First, I am a Christian, but I have seen question after question on here as well as countless answers from those purporting to be Christians attacking Atheists, Agnostics and people of other faiths.
You may not do these things but you really ought to read more questions and answers on here before you make those kind of generalizations.

you, like most christians, don't know christians too well,
here's some FACTS about christians:
hell was created by christians - so shall they go there!
christians have KILLED more people in the history of humanity than any other group.
christians have persecuted millions of "non-believers" just because they DIDN'T believe in "christianity!
christians are by far the most brain-washed - brain-dead believers in the world today!
Here's the Solution, even for the brain-washed, brain-dead christian believers:
Create a private, personal, direct, divine Relationship with Our Creator and save your Soul from religion.
Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!
Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.
"religion is Spiritual fraud"; "religion is the Worse invention of humanity" - Jesus Christ, Buddha and any other being with Spiritual intelligence.
Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!

1) expects me to live by their moral code
2) believes that they can make judgments on others
3) interprets the bible according to their own assumptions resulting in hundreds of different sects = why is god's religion so confusing?
4) loves dubya and all republican ideals = hate the environment, believes war is good
5) hypocritical and uneducated
i could continue but i'm tired
