Dog Fighting? What's this all about?

Is anyone out there who thinks dog fighting is all right, and will admit it?

I was just looking into the Michael Vick story (being nosey) and I read this article... some people are nutso



NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Washington Redskins players Clinton Portis and Chris Samuels defended Michael Vick on Monday by ridiculing the notion that dog fighting is considered a crime.

In an interview with WAVY-TV, Portis said that if the Atlanta Falcons quarterback is charged and convicted of being involved in a dog fighting operation, then authorities would be "putting him behind bars for no reason."

"I don't know if he was fighting dogs or not," Portis said. "But it's his property; it's his dogs. If that's what he wants to do, do it."

Portis said dog fighting is a "prevalent" part of life.

You have to be kidding, right?

OK in some cultures, blood sport is considered noble and exciting - bull fights, cock fights, even fighting fish and insects.

But here in the US, blood sport is considered barbaric, evil and horrible. It is abuse and ungentlemanly and a sign of lower class people.

I don't think its right. They hurt the poor animals. They wernt put on the earth to fight and earn us money for that reason. They are our friends. Like look at the horible name they gave the pitbulls and the deed. BLAME THE DEED NOT THE BREED. They bred agressiveness twards dogs in their DNA. And comment on that articale: A dog is like a human they have rights. Its animal abuse. Get over it they deserve to have a life not to be fought and put threw pain for your entertainment.

i dont think that is very good but sometimes dogs just have to get it out of their system.
