I need a good website to use for a S.S. lesson on how to have confidence defending your beliefs to a Jehovah's Witness. I have a lot already, but I wanted to make sure I got all the best stuff. Any web sites you know of?

I might not have been terribly clear. I am a fundamentalist who knows a reasonable amount about this, but I want to make sure I have as much as possible.

I advise you to just know your Bible. If you are firm in what you believe, it should come a little easier to you.

I wouldn't try to discredit people based on some web sites, seeing that they are all man made.

Good use of your Bible and study of it is the only way to truly know the truth.

No matter what religion you are, you have to have faith in what you believe, or you have nothing at all. If you have to question your own faith and ask other for ways to discredit another's faith, you may want to question whether you really want to discredit it. You may just find something you've been looking for in what you are trying to make look wrong.

Why would you want to? If your heart is closed to their teachings, than that is all you have to say, unless you are really afraid they are right. You wouldn't be the first to do this. Saul of Tarsus also had similar ideas from his advance religious education, that the followers of the teachings of an ex-carpenter were really a cult. I imagine they had just as much proof, without the need of the Internet.

He had to be blinded to see the light.

Jehovah's Witnesses very much want their neighbors to read and study and meditate on the bible itself. If arguing with Jehovah's Witnesses is what initiates their personal examination of the Scriptures, then perhaps some good may still come of that.

Wallowing in the mire of anti-Witness propaganda, however, doesn't really seem to be Christlike or god-fearing. This questioner and his accomplices should perhaps concentrate instead on "the good news" of God's Kingdom.

How to witness to Jehovah’s Witnesses:

First don’t argue with us. We didn’t come to your door to argue. Nobody wins an argument (contrary to what others have said). Please understand that for one to win an argument, one of the individuals would have had to change their mind. If we feel that all you want to do is argue we will leave. By leaving we aren’t “running away” we are following the counsel at Matt 10:12,13.

Next don’t try to tell us that we must believe the trinity. According to the New Encyclopedia Britannica (1976), and the New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967) the trinity is not found in the bible, and the Apostles did not believe anything even remotely approaching that idea in the bible.

The Encyclopedia Americana (1956) says that the trinity does not reflect accurately early Christian teaching regarding the nature of God, it is, on the contrary a deviation from their teaching.

So if you say that you can “prove” the trinity using the bible, you are either misunderstanding what the bible is actually trying to say or you are purposely trying to teach falsehoods.

Next don’t say that “my” bible is inaccurate or full of mistakes. According to Truth in Translation: Accuracy and Bias in English Translations of the New Testament. by Jason BeDuhn, associate professor of religious studies at Northern Arizona University, in Flagstaff, Arizona,
The New World Translation “is one of the most accurate English translations of the New Testament currently available” and “the most accurate of the translations compared.” One of the bibles it was compared to was the NIV. John 1:1 was one of the verses compared and the NWT was the only bible translation that translated it correctly. (He did say he preferred “and the Word was divine or godlike to “a god”, but a god is an accurate and truthful translation).

Speaking of the NIV, when Edwin H. Palmer, Th.D., Executive Secretary for the NIV’s committee was asked why they didn’t translate Jehovah’s name correctly and accurately in their bible in the almost 7000 times it appears, he stated that they spent $2 million dollars and if they had translated God’s name correctly as Jehovah or Yahweh instead of LORD, they would be throwing that money away. He also said that we are the victims of 350 years of the King James tradition.

So my question is if they mistranslated Jehovah’s name 7000 times to “sale bibles” what else did they mistranslate? (2 Corinthians 2:17)

If the reason they didn’t use Jehovah’s name was “Jewish Tradition” remember what Jesus said about Jewish traditions and God’s Word at Matt 15:6, the Jews had made God’s Word invalid do to their traditions. Therefore is following Jewish tradition a good idea when it comes to translating God’s Word?

Another point you shouldn’t bring up is the immortality of the soul. Unless you can disprove Ezekiel 18:4 and Matt 10:28 which says that the soul will die and also be destroyed as punishment for sin. Please remember that the first recorded lie in the bible was to the effect that if we disobey God we will not die. (Gen. 3:4) So if you tell me that the soul does not die you are repeating the lie Satan told Eve.

Add to this the fact that according to Eccl. 9: 5 & 10, the dead are conscience of nothing at all and Jesus liken death to sleep (Matt 9:24; John 11:11-14). Finally let’s not forget that eternal life is a reward for faithfulness, not something we already have.

Another point you shouldn’t mention is “All those who believe that Jesus is Lord will go to heaven.” Please notice what Jesus said about John the Baptist at Matthew 11:11. No one can deny John’s faith in Jesus, but he won’t even be a lesser one in heaven, so how and where is John to receive his reward for faithful service? (Matt 5:5) This is in harmony with what the bible says about King David (Acts 2:34) not going to heaven. Another point about heaven is don’t say Jehovah took Enoch to heaven because Jesus denies this at John 3:13.

So what is the best way to witnesses to one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Well, instead of waiting for one to come to your door, call your local Kingdom Hall and ask for a personal study of the bible, study once or twice a week, attend all the meetings for 6 months. If you haven’t learned to witness to Jehovah’s people in this time period, pray to Jehovah and ask him to help you remove whatever it is that is holding you back.

--WHY SHOULD YOU BE so insecure when indeed you should be able to depend on the holy spirit to defend your beliefs to us:

(Luke 21:14-17) “14 Therefore settle it in YOUR hearts not to rehearse beforehand how to make YOUR defense, 15 for I will give YOU a mouth and wisdom, which all YOUR opposers together will not be able to resist or dispute. 16 Moreover, YOU will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of YOU to death; 17 and YOU will be objects of hatred by all people because of my name.”

--SO IF you feel we are persecuting you in practicing your idea of true religion , would not the holy spirit help you?
--YOU WOULD INDEED not be following the command of Christ to be overly anxious, would you?

--OR DO YOU FIT this description of one WHO HAS DOUBTS that their belief might not be as secure as they should be if they were worshipping God in the way Christ did?

(James 1:5-8) “5 So, if any one of YOU is lacking in wisdom, let him keep on asking God, for he gives generously to all and without reproaching; and it will be given him. 6 But let him keep on asking in faith, not doubting at all, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and blown about. 7 In fact, let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from Jehovah; 8 he is an indecisive man, unsteady in all his way. . .”

--If indeed you have some serious doubts don't ignore them, please look carefully into the way you are worshipping is as Jesus stated:

(John 4:22-24) “22 YOU worship what YOU do not know; we worship what we know, because salvation originates with the Jews. 23 Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth.””

--The Samaritan woman in the well responded to what Christ had to say about Jehovah God and she was greatly rewarded for her love for the truth
--That indeed is something for any of us to consider in needing to make adjustment to be secure in our worship of God!
--TRUE WORSHIP does not allow for any indecisiveness!

(1 Kings 18:21-22) “21 Then E·li′jah approached all the people and said: “How long will YOU be limping upon two different opinions? If Jehovah is the [true] God, go following him; but if Ba′al is, go following him.” And the people did not say a word in answer to him. 22 And E·li′jah went on to say to the people: “I myself have been left as a prophet of Jehovah, I alone, while the prophets of Ba′al are four hundred and fifty men.”

--Not to be unkind , but to be very honest the baal worshippers , worshipped baal
& faked worship of Jehovah!

--Trinity worship is also a limping of worship of the God of Jesus, that is why it indeed is necessary that we never are indecisive or limping on 2 different opinions!
--Jesus made clear --his God, was the ONE & ONLY:

(Mark 12:29-31) “29 Jesus answered: “The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God is one Jehovah, 30 and you must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind and with your whole strength.’ 31 The second is this, ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these. . .”

--AS FAR AS OTHER WEBSITES:
When you type Jehovah or Jehovah's witnesses, and of course Watchtower you will find every false view of us you would like to accept--IF IN FACT THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT!

"For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories." -- 2 Thimothy 4:3,4

Do they believe in jesus?

You could just show them that he is a rehash of earlier, cooler gods.
