Try taking a vitamin with biotin in it. Biotin helps with the health of your skin, nails, and hair. I've been using it for ages. Now, you do need a product in your hair to absorb some of the day to day damage of sun, pollution, etc. So use a gentle one like Biolage Mousse. Deep condition at home--that's the most important thing because even getting services done at the salon isn't going to do anything for your hair if you don't practice at home care. I love BedHead's Dumb Blonde as a 2-3 times a week deep conditioner. As for products that are good to use, be sure you're using a salon shampoo and conditioner. My hair is also the same as your description so I used BedHead Moisture Maniac shampoo and conditioner. And as a side note, blow drying is what ADDS life to your hair. What you have to do is make sure that you have a dryer with a cool air setting on it and use that to style your hair. Always keep the nozzle pointed down so you will not make your hair a frizzy mess. Finish it off with some Redken Glass--that works wonderfully with making your hairy shiny. Take a dime sized drop in your palm, rub it onto your finger tips, and then use your finger tips on the ends of your hair to work the product all the way up your strands, avoiding 2 inches of roots. Salon products are great, but you have to find the ones that work for you. And never forget that hair health starts from within--if you're not eating a good diet then you're not going to have healthy hair, pure and simple. When you wash, try skipping a day or two, and be sure to use the shampoo only on the roots, and the conditioner only on the ends. Try using natural bristle brushes to spread the oils through your hair before washing to prevent over drying. If there are any other questions I can help you with or if you have pictures of your texture, feel free to write me.

It can be hard to tell, many times its just your hairs natural textures which changes a few times in a lifetime. I had the same issue with my hair and I although I stopped dying my hair and using heat, it was still like straw and had split ends if I didn't cut it every six weeks.
So I decided to switch to a shapoo and conditioner for severely damaged hair, you know, the stuff that says for broken, splitting, dry hair and I wash it no more than 3 times a week and apply a 3-5 minute deep conditioning mask at least once a week.
You should see a noticable difference in a few weeks, with hair its really about the upkeep.
Oh and even if you don't use heat as much as others, you may want to cut it out even more. The thicker your individual hair strands are, the easier it is for them to break and split.
If you must, must, use heat on your hair, use a product like Redkin heat glide, which is a heat protecting serum and make sure you apply it in sections not just on the top of your hair.
You can also look online for at home hair masks, with olive oil and other fats to help moisture stay in your hair.
Hope this helped.
Good luck!

Well if you smoke cigarettes, that does affect your hair and everyone’s hair is different. She produces allot of oil than you do. Don’t wash your hair everyday; let your natural oil restore your hair. Air drying help also; also try once or twice a week sleeping with your conditioner still in your hair. That will help make it look healthy also. Allot of people will tell you to use just product but that can be expensive. And not all of them always work. My hair is a pain in the butt but also my hair is very long but anyways that’s what I do and my hair is healthy.

Your hair is protein. You might need a change of what you are eating. It is health of the body that makes things like glowing skin, healthy hair, and strong fingernails rather than the products you put on your skin, hair, or nails. Read this web page for info on the vitamins that your body needs for healthy hair http://hairloss.about.com/od/preventinghairloss/a/Vitamins.htm

use natural oils for your hair, they are great, softens your hair and make it bouncy.
my suggestion is to use one of or a combination of the following oils:
1-dabur amla oil:it really works like magic on hair, it makes hair so soft and shiny
2-olive oil
3-coconut oil
i put oil in my hair 2-3 times a week for at least 4 hrs.if u use oils constantly you will see a difference

Not sure, try using Biosilk, it is kind of expensive, but a little goes a long way and it does not weigh your hair, but makes it very shiny and soft and it also smells good!

Cholesterol is great for dry hair. If you don't have any use a raw egg and real mayonaise, just let it sit in your hair for a while, and shampoo out.
