I'm a Christian who believes in Evolution. God could even create that.
However, there is something to this Bible thing. There are a lot of answers in there amoungst all the things that make people angry.
There is a place where Jesus is telling people who to Prosteletize (Tell people the good news). He said to just tell them. If they accept it, fine if not, Shake the Dust from your sandles and go your way.
Just say, I don't believe in Evolution, I believe in Creationism. Some people will be interested, some people not - some people will be rude - Talk with the people who are interested and let it go with the others. If you keep pushing it, you are guilty of Vainty. In the instance you open your mouth to people about the Good News, God, the Saints and Prophets all speak to their hearts. If they still refuse nothing you - a person can say will make a difference. People get it, or they don't. You just is not to convert, it's to offer people the good news and give it if they want it.
Also, dear, get yourself some of Lee Strobel's books so you have answers for those smarty pants who will try to make you feel dumb. :) "Case for Christ" "Case fo the Creator" etc.

Bianca dear, why is it evolution vs. christianity?
evolution does not mean atheism and a lot of christians believe that evolution is a valid science and explains the development of life here on earth.
Not all Christians take the bible literally. Some see Genesis as an allegory. They do not believe in a REAL talking snake and tree with a flaming sword spinning round and round.
They see that it is indeed a FACT that we share 98% of our genetic material to apes and that creatures with a common ancestor adapt over time to suit their environment. These are not myths but scientific facts. They have nothing to do with whether a God exists or not. Evolution could very well be how God started the process going.
I suggest you study what you are trying to disprove before you make silly statements that will only make you look more unlearned to your friends. Then they surely will not take you seriously.

Not to distort your desired decision as a "Christian", however you may want to consider "Seeking the truth".
Evolution is about as real as Creationism. Both are correct and both are completely flawed. Evolution does in fact have some stand to base its views on, the other has more of a "faith" base, but both are so full of holes it makes them both unbelievable unless you put something in there that acts as an equalizer that fills these gaps.
This is a topic that has thousands of books, philosophers have argued over this that are way smarter then either one of us and yet the answer may be more simple then we may want to accept, though it may be much farther from our "accepted" reality then we want it to be.
Look on the internet and read some of the works by Lloyd Pye, go to the library or a book store and read "Everything you know is wrong". This will fascinate even the most skeptical (I know I was).
Then go and read the work by Zachariah Stichin, especially "Genesis Revisited". This will also assist you in considering things with an open mind.
Do not rely on a single source for your answer, seek the truth, feel the truth as you understand it. Live it and accept the reality as you have found, you may not "convert" anyone or be converted yourself, but you at least will be happy with your decision for your beliefs.

Evolution is NOT scientific fact! If people would do some actual research instead of simple accepting what they hear as fact, they would see the millions of holes and inconsistencies of evolution.
If you simply look at the "big bang" theory. Supposedly energy speed up super fast and matter combusted and BANG there was a universe. Going with the physics of that if you were to put people on a merry go round, and spun it super fast til they spun off...they would all continue to spin the direction the merry go round was spinning.
In our solar system alone there are planets that spin clock wise, counter clock wise, and even side ways. That is simple against physics.
And we see the death od stars, but how come there are never new births of stars?
And if everything is evolving then why are all people evolving at the exact same time? Why are there not a multitude of different variations of one species?
A lot of people claim that carbon dating proves evolution, but there have been numerous cases where the head of a dinosaur will measure like 10 million years and the leg will measure 25million years. just how long does it take a dinosaur to die?
check out Kent Hovind he is great at explaining to people if fallacies of evolutions.

We even have some videos of his seminar. Feel free to email me if you would be interested in a copy (he does not copyright his tapes so that people can share them)

This is an age old battle that neither side is ever going to win because christians believe in the creation and scientists cannot see anything beyond "factual". You cant actually tell someone what is right or wrong, they have to believe for themselves. Only a person who has experience the spirit of God knows that creationism is true. The feeling you experience when the spirit of God envelops you is so unique that it cant be explained in mere words. All you can do is remain faithful to yourself and your beliefs and remember when the time comes, you will be the one celebrating with Christ and our Heavenly Father in paradise.

Good question. Talking about evolution is a difficult subject, but as Christian, there is no reason to fear evolution or talking about evolution to our friends or anyone. Evolution is a theory that has not been scientifically proven. Most folks will immediately point to the fossil record and claim that it "certainly" proves evolution. But it doesn't. Regarding the fossil record, evolution claims that we will find thousands upon thousands of transitional forms as one species evolves into another species AND that the further back in time we go, we will find it harder to distinguish between species as we draw closer to our evolutionary beginning. Creationism states regarding the fossil record, that we instead will find a wide variety of species, all complete and fully functional, capable of multiplying after kind and not a single transitional form. In the 150 or so years since Darwin produced his theory, which has been more correct? Creationism or Evolution? To date, we have found absolutely ZERO transitional forms. Not one. We find, instead, a wide variety of species, all complete and fully functional, capable of multiplying after kind. Fish have always been fish. Ducks have always been ducks. People have always been people. There are many other ways to refute Evolution and you can check the links below.
But remember, your friends aren't necessarily going to be convinced based on evolution. If they have not repented of their sins and put their faith in Christ, then the message of the gospel will be foolishness to them. Don't get discouraged if they dismiss your reasoning. We can only plant the seeds, it is up to God to bring the seeds to fruit. It is our responsibility as Christians to seek and save the lost and if you have repented and put your faith in Christ, then you will have the help of the Holy Spirit as you witness to them. Even if you do not know what to say or how to say it, He does. I've put some links below that may help.
"Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9)
God bless

Here's the thing. Evolution is true; nobody actually doubts it except religious fanatics.
A few hundred years ago, religious fanatics tried to tell everybody science is wrong and that the sun revolves around the earth while everybody else knew better.
You must be american - only in that country there is such a huge amount of anti-science folk, and they're a huge embarrassment to the rest of the country.
Evolution is science - it is to be understood, not "believed in".
And by the way, your jesus is just a rehash of earlier, cooler gods.

There isn't. Evolution is what happened. You can believe in Jesus and in evolution you know. Tons of christians in Europe and the US do it. But if you take the bible ultra-literally you are going to run into more problems than just evolution.

There isn't because the two are not incompatible beliefs; you can believe both. What you are debating is evolution vs. creation theory.
Don't try to force your opinions on someone else. be content with what you believe and let your friends believe what they want or else you won't have any friends anymore.
