My hubby is currently taking suboxone due to narcotic addiction. He has just started on this program and on the med bottle it states "no more than 12 mg max a day". I have just found out that he is taking around 20 mg. I have a call in to his doc but would appreciate some input on this. He has done rehab, methodone treatment, etc. This was his last chance with me and I am unsure if this is common (needing to take more than prescribed) or just another form of addiction. Thanks.

No that's not common with suboxone. At 1st U kinda of get a buzz from it. It is a miracle drug for detoxing. This is a great opportunity 4 him to get clean & start over with this med. It sounds like he doesn't want too. I hate to tell U that. I was on it and got clean. He's an addict. It's 1 day at a time for us.
Best of luck to U. If U want to contact me U R welcome too.

unfortunately your husband is just using the new medicine to get high. It's very difficult for an addict to stop. you say this is your last chance with him. It may be the best thing for you to move on and get a better life without someone constantly being a burden to you. It's amazing how we hold on to something that is so bad for us, because of our fears of the unknown.
