I have always had an interest in audio/video, especially home theater. I would love to be involved in it as a profession. Trouble is, most reputable A/V stores (not big box stores i.e. Best Buy) want somemone with experience obviously. I really can't afford to go back to school because I am still paying off my student loans. I feel I have a lot of knowledge and would learn fast. I would be interested in installing, designing, programming, etc... Any suggestions? I live in Columbus, Ohio area.

Check www.cedia.net. CEDIA is the official organization of AV installers and they provide lots of classes and training.

If it is tough to get to high-end AV stores, start first with the BBy or Circuit City, get the training, and then move up.
Or find local AV specialty contractors and try to start working as an apprentice and move up.
