Why do some men find short hair unacceptable on women?

I have had many hairstyles, I seem to gravitate more toward short hair- I just think I look better with shorter hair. Maybe its just men in the south...let me know

Maybe they just see long hair as being very feminine and short hair as boy-ish or un-feminine. Men see hair as a sign of attractiveness. Could this be why women (especially us black women) rush to the stores to try and acheive this look through weaves and braids and other processes. If thats what you like. fine. Do it for yourself, but not because some man says you have to look like Beyonce or Jessica Simpson.
I cut my hair very short about 10 years ago after having very long hair and have spent the entire time since growing it back. My husband said he loved it short... but I hated it. He told me once.... he married me... not my hair.

So do what you want. Rock your short hair and love yourself and love life. Besides... dont EVEN get me started about what we find unacceptable about men!!!!

I think it's just certain men. I think men equate long hair with femininity, so if a girl has short hair, I think guys would probably tend to think of her as less feminine. It's not true, of course! I think there are just some women who look great with short hair! I'm thinking about getting mine cut above my shoulders (it's to the middle of my back now) but my husband isn't crazy about it, he loves long hair and hates short hair. But whatever, you gotta do whatever makes you happy!

I prefer hair that is shoulder length or longer, And also since that men who like ladies are more often then not straight, they like long hair because this looks more feminine, as most males have short hair.

Generalization much? Perhaps before they came out, they were deeply in the closet and deliberately acting more "girly" than they felt. Perhaps, in getting their hair cut and dropping the more overtly-feminine gestures, they were actually moving more towards who they actually were? So, in fact, the "pretty and feminine" part was the act, and what you saw afterwards was more of the reality. For what it's worth, while I do know some lesbians who went through a transformation such as you describe, most of the ones I know were pretty much the same before and after, except for being happier.

I know some guys would associate short hair with tomboyishness and long hair with more femine stuff...

but as with blondes being smart, brunettes being dumb and red heads being predictable, steriotypes never fit lol...

men tend to form their own views of what is more attractive or less in women... "one man's trash is another man's treasure" if I may be so uncuth...

YEAH MEN FROM THE SOUTH WERE RAISED AS IF A WOMAN SHOULD ONLY HAVE LONG HAIR DUE TO THERE OLD FASHION WAYS PROBALLY ..... WHICH SUCKS BUT THEY LIKE THERE WOMAN A LITTLE ON THE TRASHY SIDE ....... NOW THAT'S SOMETHING I DON'T GET !!!!!!

Because we think that girls should have long beautiful and wavy hair!! Not your fault. But some type do like it. :D
