Hey christians, are ya familiar with Harold Camping?

Question

Well he says that the world is going to end in 2011, and that Jesus will not return like a theif in the night to have accpeted Christ as their savior. He says there are blatant signs that lead to a direct year that the world will end.

Any comments?

Well i suppose that if you were to make the argument that no one will know the time or day, his argument would be that he doesnt claim to know those, jus tthe alleged year that the world will end.

This is a question to see how Christians feel about these statments from Harold Camping, hence the "Any comments" question that I posted at the end.
I was wondering if anyone else may have heard it or may believe this themselves, I mean apparently at least one Christian does.
No I do not think Christians believe everything they read or whatever, but just as you are christian, and somebody else may be muslim, EVERYONE IS INDEED DIFFERENT WITH DIFFERENCES OF OPINIONS AND BELIEFS, AND INTERPRETATIONS OF A BIBLE. Point Blank.

He also wrote a book claiming Jesus would return in 1994. I thought he was wrong then, and I'm pretty sure he is again. How does he make christianity look? We've had many that haven't made us look great, but by the grace of God we're still here and so is His message.

The bible says that no one will know when Christ returns. He's probably referring to the "year of the fig tree" 1948 (its a very long story) and the 70 years after, but if thats the case, it should be 2018 so he's 7 yrs off. But my Bible states clearly that no one will know the day or the hour when Jesus will return, so thats what I believe. This guy freaks me out...the anti-Christ will be coming before Jesus will, pretending to be Jesus. I really don't think this is him yet, but it still leaves room for suspicion...God don't tell me *exactly* when this all takes place, though some bible scholars can almost pinpoint a time from the hints taken from the bible...I'm kinda freaked out by this though, to answer your question....

There was a book written entitled "88 reasons why Jesus is coming in 1988." Just because some quirk is spouting off doesnt mean that God is not real or that Christianity is debunk. I personally dont believe anyone who says they know when Jesus is coming back. It goes against Scripture.

Just because I am a Christian doesnt mean I blindly accept everything that someone calling himself a Christian says. Do you think that Christians are all mindless drones and will try to defend crazy humans with cardboard signs and a marker? Come on! Just because we accepted Christ doesnt mean we lost our minds or our ability to think for ourselves!
