We were having sex the other day and I said that if I got pregnant he would have to marry me (he knew this and is fine with it) and he said that he wanted to marry me. I didn't say anything right away but then I said What do you mean you want to marry me. He then said that he wanted to be with me and said a whole bunch of different things about me that he likes. He is going to Japan in the fall which we have talked about many times before and I am planning on going to India. He asked me if I would wait for him until he came back from Japan. I told him I would and he knows I would. He said that the marriage thing was just something to think about for the future. I didn' t really say anthing and then he asked me if I thought he'd be a good husband and father. I do think he would be a great husband and father. We had a similar conversation once before while we were messing around. What do you think this all means?

One of two things.
Since you have these conversations when your messing around, he either says it so he can continue to have sex with you, OR
He really means it, and you guys should talk about it outside the bedroom, so you know where you stand.

Hi, I'm not an expert but I do have knowledge because of age and experience. Talking about your future and having sex is not an ideal time. The chat that you had was nothing to interpret. He sounded straight up about it. Men, do not say much, women on the other hand analyze it to death. When you really need to speak up is when the time is right. Vague conversation will just drive you nuts. Ask him everything you want to know. Clarification is great. Do not ever feel uncomfortable. Sounds like you love him. Sounds like he really cares what you think of him as well. Make a date to talk about your futures together. Marriage is a beautiful institution, I really believe in it. I asked my husband to marry me. He said yes right away.. Many women marry because they like the idea of it. The hardest thing your going to do with a life partner is be married.

I think you put him on the spot by telling him he WOULD have to marry you. So he had to go with it, but then kinda took it back in a way cause he was FORCED into saying "Yes, I will marry you".
Personally I don't think that is a good enough reason to get married. Just b/c you get pregnant doesn't mean you have to suffer the rest of your life. . .
I think if he REALLY meant to marry you (or lets say WHEN he is really considering it) he will tell you in a normal situation, not when you are having sex & talking about accidently gettin knocked up. He would say it when the moment was right & not b/c he HAS to get married.

I have been married over twenty years. Its about companionship. Do you want to spend years with this person.
it obvious you love him .but marraige is a big step. it can ruin a relation ship or make it stronger. Is he wanting to marry you to keep you on the hook. I know that these are a lot of question type answers, But I have seen a lot of relationships come and go because the man says what he thinks you want to hear so he has a steady piece of ***. It always comes down to sex.Even at my age sex is a intrical part of our relationship, And to keep that intimacy we will go to great lengths. Love has very little to do with sex. Friendship,communication and trust are the key parts to a marriage, My parents are coming up on 65 years of being married. and they act like little kids somtimes. But they are the best of friends. So in short,if you love the man you will probly marry him, But you already knew this did'nt you...

Have this conversation with him again when youve not been so intimate. If all the details come out the same, then it may be that its real talk of a future together. otherwise, its the gee that felt good lets talk lovely.

i don't no what to think. i know that your feelings can get screwed up when your having sex. i don't know if it's the sex or him talking. you said both conversation acquired while messing around. how long will he be in Japan. how long will you have to wait. WILL HE WAIT?

Men will say anything when they are in the middle of messing around. Unless he's talking about these types of things outside of the bedroom, I wouldn't put much stock into it.

Hes asking you to wait for him so when he gets back you can be together.
Trust me if he didn't love you, or want to be with you, he would have run a mile at your comment lol.

Seems Like he is really into you and he asked if you would wait for him to see how serious you are and if you and he can last while you are far apart he will def. pop the question when the both of you will return.
