i am going on a cruise to the bahamas in a month, and i know that the drinks are not too much more expensive on the boat, but after 10 days of being on the boat, that can suffice for a huge bill in drinks. Sooo....has anyone tried or know of THE BEST way to sneak booze onto the ship? ie: a suitcase full? dump out a case of water bottles and fill them with vodka? any other successful, sneaky ways would be great!! :)

You can try the ideas that are already here, but I know several people who have gotten caught, and had their stash confiscated. The cruise lines have been more diligent about this with the amount of "accidents" involving smuggled alcohol.

Wow! you must be a heavy drinker if you would drink a caseful of water bottles filled with vodka in 10 days.

If you are a casual drinker, just put a bottle of liquor in your checked baggage and it will get there just fine.

You actually will enjoy the cruise a lot more if you are sober than falling down drunk. Drinks are in the $6 range and a few of those each day is not going to break you, I hope. You would not consider sneaking your own booze into a club. Why do it on a ship?

We just got back from a cruise and I took a small amount of liquor in a flask, about a pint sized bottle. I packed it with my clothes and other toiletries. They say they that x-ray baggage before it goes on ship but I am not sure of that. They will place ALL of your carry-ons through a scanner just like the one at airports. Best bet is carry a few small bottles packed with toiletries. Also, when you go into ports buy some mini's; like the kind they sell on airplanes. This last trip we bought some minis and I put them in my pouch and they went right through the scanner. Most times they are looking for big bottles of liquor.

Also, when you get the booze to your cabin, don't leave it sitting out; always keep it in a drawer or your bag. The room stewart will sometimes tell you this.

Just put the bottle of booze in your suitcase and walk on board. as long as the bottle doesnt leave the ship, you'll be fine. They have thousands of passengers and don't search the bags, especially because the baggage never leaves the ship, so you never violate customs.
If your really worried about it put the booze into a medicine bottle, like tylenol PM or something, or even a listerine bottle.
check the cruise lines "allowance" for cosmetics. You can bring a half gallon bottle of "listerine" ;) ;) on board.
When I was in the Navy I did it all the time.

My good friend is a travel agent she goes on alot of cruises, She's been on over 100 cruises. They do x-ray all of your luggage. If they do see the bottle they won't open your luggage they will call you down to the main office and will make you open your luggage and confiscate the alcohol. Any alcohol purchased on the cruise ship is locked away and given to you at the end of the cruise. She said to wrap the bootles in bubble wrap and hide it between a bunch of clothes has worked for her.

Purchase it by the bottle on board the ship. You will likely get caught if you try to sneak it on. The inspections are very thorough.

i did no longer sneak it on while we first boarded as a results of fact i replaced into afraid if I have been given caught they does not enable me to board so i did no longer take the prospect. The beverages on board are incredibly particularly priced and robust. additionally, they sell alcohol on board for large much less costly (yet they do no longer transport it on your stateroom till the final day.) while we went to St. Thomas we offered some pints of rum and my boyfriend replaced into waiting to sneak it on yet while we went to Puerto Rico and tried to do it returned, he have been given caught. They took it from him and gave it back to us on the final day, they have been incredibly cool approximately it. So, i don't be attentive to in case you choose to do it in the previous you board as a results of fact there is greater protection yet...its a 50-50 shot..you will be able to or would possibly no longer get caught :) i could rather attempt doing the water bottle situation, they actually weren't that severe with drinks so which you will be able to get fortunate with that! :) or deliver a coke bottle, fill it up and pour basically a splash of coke in there to furnish it that coke look....i dont be attentive to...Get imaginative in case you're severe approximately it, in any different case, purely take excitement in the beverages they have on board!

i just went on a cruise last week and I brought a bottle of rum with me. Just put it in your checked luggage. Don't try to carry it on because they run your carry-on stuff through a metal detector. They don't check your checked luggage at all.
