from personal experience, CHRISTIAN FAMILY LIFE SERVICES of fargo is great. you'll feel so taken care of and they are so helpful. and even if you don't live in the fm area, they will come to you. lots of great families for you to choose from. it was so important that they stressed that they are not finding babies for families, but families for babies. eveything is paid for by the families and cfls has its own lawyer, so you don't have to pay anything. and the staff will take great care of you afterwards too. good luck and i wish you the best!
ps, do not listen to louise. people like that do not truly understand the gift that adoption is to the child, bparents, and aparents.

If there are any maternity homes aroudn your area you can go to them for more information, you dont have to be residing in their home to get the information. They have books upon books of families awaiting to adopt and you can pick them. Even Meet them. Whatever you want. Best of Luck, and I think what you are doing is wonderful, you are giving a couple the chance to love a child, and have them as their own.

Just remember you have many options when selecting a couple to adopt your baby. You can select a couple on your own via looking at websites such as parentprofiles.com or if you know of someone through a family member or friend. Many agencies will put pressure on you to select a couple that they are working with for the couple is paying them to do this. I have heard from other mothers who are considering placing that they feel it is easier to make a decision when they can do it from their own home at their own pace.
I would try to pick out at least 3 couples to "interview". Talk with them on the phone, if they live close to you meet with them. This is the best way of getting a good idea as to who they are and if you want your baby to be raised by them. They do not have to be working with an agency but they do need to have a home study completed.
We are wanting to adopt again and have chosen to not go through an agency for we did not like how they handled our first adoption. Social services would be your best bet. They have tons of info abd can direct you accordingly. they can also help you find conseling that may be free of charge. the only reason I mention that is so that you can talk to someone and make sure this is really what you want. If it is there are several types of options pertaining to adoption that give you the ability to be somewhat involved in your child's life. It's very honorable of you to do this instead of getting an unecessary abortion.

First off, I want to thank you for making the hard decision to adopt. A lot of people are waiting to adopt a child and you are giving these families a chance! Contact your nearest community resources (social services). They will get everything going for you. You can be as involved or uninvolved as you wish. You can chose the adoptive parents, you can chose the type of adoption you want (open or closed), they will do a medical history on you and your babys dad as well. Its a lot of paper work but you can be assured your child will go to the adoptive family best suited for him or her and with all the info necessary! Good luck to you.

Hi, well you could take a look at Bethany.Org they are a great agency. My husband and I are trying to adopt through them. We are finishing up our paper work, then we will wait to be chosen by a birth mother. You could also call your local pregnancy center. Best of luck.

Before you do anything search deep in your heart if this is what you want to do. When and if you decide to relinquish your child read everything you might sign your name to. Another important factor do you years later want your child to able to reestablish a connection to you. Important item to remember leave some kind of medical family history , this is vitally important.

Most places have a age limit until you can't give them up. But check your local police stations,firehouses and churches for even more help.
