How can you make a long distance relationship work?

The most important key is communication! You MUST talk, email, IM or chat frequently to keep both partners reassured and to feel the presence of the other. Don't just talk about the weather, either. Get into intimate things like your childhood, what you believe in, etc. Talk about the small things that happened during the day, what you had for lunch, etc. Because you can't be with each other your willingness to open up is the only way you can connect intimately.
