How about a credit union it's free and they give out loans all the time, but beware if you do put up your car, they can come get it if you default but will probably be more willing to give you the loan. If not, get a co-signer, just be careful and make sure you can repay the loan.

If your car is paid off and is worth significantly more than the $8000 you need, try a bank or more likely a finance company.
