Funnel Cake
1 1/3 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
oil, for frying
powdered sugar


1. In a large bowl, mix all dry ingredients.
2. Beat egg, milk, and vanilla together in a separate bowl.
3. Add milk mixture to dry ingredients beating until smooth.
4. Fill 8" skillet with 1 inch oil and heat to 375 degrees.
5. Cover funnel hole with finger and fill with about 1/4 cup of batter.
6. Hold funnel over skillet and remove finger moving funnel around to form patterns with the batter.
7. Fry until golden brown, about 1 or 2 minutes.
8. Turn over with tongs and continue frying another minute or two or until both sides are brown.
9. Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
10. Serve hot.

It's just batter poured into hot oil and fried. It's called a Funnel Cake because the batter is poured out of the bottom of a funnel.

Funnel Cake
INGREDIENTS
1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 quart oil for frying
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar for dusting
DIRECTIONS
In a mixing bowl, beat together egg and milk. Beat in flour, salt, baking soda, cream of tartar, and white sugar until smooth.
Heat about 1 inch cooking oil in frying pan to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Pour 1/2 cup batter through funnel into oil with a circular motion to form a spiral. Fry until lightly brown; turn over to brown the other side. Cook to golden brown, and remove to drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar while still warm.


Be very careful not to burn yourself!

You should find the funnel cake maker itself it make it but pretty easy. I love funnel cakes.
