It's only the first week or so with him, but it's kinda akward, any suggestions?
I'm totally into him but I don't want anymore akward silences!

Activity.
Go out and find something both of you would like to do. Umm...picture booth? You know, those little booths that spews out sticker pictures. Make funny faces and once the picture comes out you'd be laughing at it. Bowling, basketball...the point is to be in the game, not to watch the game. Anything that you guys DO together.
Movies are usually the worse idea (in case you're thinking of it) because you have to be quiet to watch a movie. If you want movies, pick something that both of you have watched so that you can discuss it. Or a comedy.
Ask questions about himself. Keep on asking and asking. Not questions like "What did you do today?" Ask something that need him to explain things. "What kind of person was your grandpa" or something along that line.

Since you are just starting out, there is going to be awkwardness between the 2 of you. I would keep it light and talk about things and that way you both can get comfortable with each other.

take him to a public place and dump him, why date someone u have nothing in common with them . dont force somethign that doesnt come natural, if u dump him in a public place at least he cant make a scene.

Just be yourself and everything will be easier and natural. If you're nervous and he is too, the atmosphere will feel uncomfortable and akward.
