To cut and paste, choose the words/etc that you want, click the cursor in front of it, click the mouse with the left side and while holding it down, drag the mouse until the text/etc that you want turns blue. Let go of the mouse, right click on the blue (anywhere) and click copy. Select where you would like the text/etc to be copied to, once you decide, right click the area and choose paste. The text you copied earlier will appear.
To scan an item into the computer you must have a scanner, place the photo, document, etc into the scanner hit scan and it will take you through the necessary steps. If you don't have a scanner, you can take the pic or whatever to your local Kinkos and for a small fee they can scan the item on a disc for you.

As for scanning, if yours is an HP printer (like ours) it came with a bit of software called HP Solution Center? Just launch up that lil' booger and it's (first) got settings so's you can tell it where to place the scanned picture and so's you can tell it what sort of picture (.jpg, .tif, etc.) to make the scanned image. Then, go back to that main screen and "scan image".

As for "cut and paste"? Not sure about your context...add details to your question for other answerers here! In general, just highlight an item, right click, you'll get a small window, click Cut, then go to the target area, highlight where you need to place the stuff you've cut, and right click, and you'll get a window where you can select Paste.
