Same with being a Christian, you keep working on being a good Christian. You can't just accept Christ then sit on your duff.

you won't be able to lose it, on account that should propose you don't comprehend the place it went. you could willfully forfeit your salvation, yet you may must be a mature Christian to realize this. examine Hebrews 6:4-6 and it will provide help to already know. you're able to be as quickly as stored consistently stored, yet it relatively is as much as you. some have long gone after devil, and rejected the Holy Spirit from being of their heart and existence. they're going to spend eternity interior the lake of hearth, regardless of the shown fact that it relatively is a willful decision from which there is not any repentance. Romans 10:8-10 is how every person could be born returned.

James wrote in his letter (epistle) to the Christian church that "faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."
Both are required for salvation. Part of faith is recognizing that Jesus is our savior, but recognition alone won't cut it. We have to act like it. Real faith needs to be a motivator- motivate us to true conversion- to convert or change.
A few words about Satan-
1) Liar- He is a liar. It seems that his favorite tactic is to take something that is true and add a dash of untruth and mix it all together and twist it into ugliness.
2) Miserable- He is miserable. We have something that he will never have- bodies. There are some who believe that having a physical body is evidence of damnation. I disagree. Our bodies are pretty darn great- the human body was the crowning jewel in God'd creation, and Satan can't have one!
As they say, misery loves company. Satan will use whatever he can to make you feel unworthy of Jesus' love... whether it's the music you listen to, the words you use... He will take the fact that Jesus wants us to "be perfect" and add a little untruth- that perhaps Jesus expects us all to measure up to His level of goodness... and twist it all together till you feel like one little mistake will mean your doom.
Another of Satan's favorite lines is to take the knowledge we gain when the Holy Ghost testifies to us that Jesus is our savior and lull us into a false sense of security- I'm saved, I can quit trying.
Jesus is a lot more merciful than that. Sure, it's hard to change, and Jesus understands that. That's the wonderful thing about Him. No matter how badly we mess up, repentance and Jesus' atonement (His payment for our sins) are still available.... NO MATTER!!!!
Seriously, I doubt the music we listen to will keep us out of heaven.... although the mind is like a sponge- what goes in will come out when under pressure. In the meantime, it sounds like you're working on becoming a better person- Kudos!! Keep at it.
When it comes to "accepting" Jesus.... A thought; Satan knows who/what Jesus is, but he certainly hasn't acted on it..... what good is that knowledge is doing him?

All Christians go through times in their lives when they are "slipping up" in a lot of things. No one is perfect and God does not desire us to be perfect. All He wants us to do is to love Him with all heart, mind, and soul (Matthew 22:37). We are sinful in our nature and the flesh is a very strong force!! Paul talked about it in Romans...he said the things he wanted to do, he didn't do and the things he didn't want to do, he did. It's an everyday struggle. But once you get saved you can't expect those worldly desires to disappear, you have to work at controlling them. Pray, pray, pray and stay in the Bible. That is the only way to stop doing those things that you don't want to do. Remember that NO ONE is perfect and we all sin everyday. It's what's in your heart that God looks at, if you've given your life to Christ and were sincere and in your heart you want to stop taking part in worldly things, ask God and He will help you. But if you've given your life to Christ and have no desire in your heart to live for Him then you need to rethink why you gave your life to Christ in the first place. It's what's in the heart that matters. Just the fact that you're asking about it is a good sign that you are sincere about your relationship with God. Remember even Christians sin and make mistakes...just repent and try to do better the next time around. As far as the music look for a Christian group with the same style you like, that may help :) Also try to find some friends at your church or job to help hold you accountable to the goals you have. Support is also a good thing.

We all sin...but a believer should be convicted when he/she does sin. That is the Holy Spirit talking to you. If you believe you are sinning, are not sorry for doing so, and do nothing about it...you really need to question your position in the Lord.
The only way to lose your salvation is outlined in Heb. 6:4-6. Basically you must sincerely reject God after first accepting Him. I think this is tied to what Christ called the only unforgiveable sin: blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
Incidentally, I think the meaning of John 10:28,29 that so many others have referenced means that others cannot take away your salvation through Christ. Conversely, no one can save you, except your acceptance of Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

No, you can't, you can walk away, but His light shines on your
back. Read Eph. 4:30, John 10:28. It's eternal life, if you
could lose it you'd be calling God a liar. This is a very important doctrine. It's called the helmet of salvation.
Listening to Rock and Roll and smoking and having an occasional drink is NOT sin, that is legalism. There is only
one sin that puts a person into hell, that is the sin of not
believing who Jesus Christ is. He is God and paid for all
the sins of all mankind. John 19:30 He cried out "It is finished", meaning he paid of everyone's sin. Sin is not the
issue, the issue is the Son. Do you believe He is God?
That's it. You are saved to the uttermost. Now, you can be
a Christian and be carnal (worldly) but that doesn't keep you
out of heaven. Any questions, e-mail me. The Lord bless you.

Yes, if you can accept Christ, then you may as well also have the prerogative to reject Him at a later point.
On the other hand, if you believe that God can and does predestine His own, then He won't let you slip away. He is powerful enough to keep and hold you forever, salvation from eternity to eternity.
I find the latter more comforting.

It is possible, if you don't allow or work with the atonement. If you sin and don't repent, then you saying you believe in Christ isn't going to be enough. You have to show Christ that you believe and value what He did for you. Yes, it is by grace we are saved, but that grace comes with something we have to do. We have to show that we recognize that we have sinned, ask forgiveness and make a pledge with God and Christ that we will never commit that sin again. Does that mean that we won't be forgiven if we commit the sin again? No. It just means that we have to work harder to stay away from that sin.
None of us are perfect. That is why the atonement was done for us. We will all make mistakes, but there is a way to wash those mistakes away. Repentance is about forgiveness, love, and appreciation. Not just from us to God, but from God to us. We have to be willing to use that gift.
None of us can stay sinless. And God doesn't expect that of us. He knows we will make mistakes. He knows that we all mess up from time to time. That is what the atonement is all about. He loved us enough to allow us a way to become as He is, sinless. Through His Son, we are able to use that in our lives.
Repentance is a wonderful thing, and a cleansing thing. If we do it the right way, we can feel peace and love from God to let us know that we are clean.

the simple answer is
NO
you can not lose your salvation, it's not like a cell phone that you can leave lying around.
BUT
You can give it back.
Jesus was perfect, WE are not. We will stumble we will fall down, we will mess up. It just how God made us.
ROCK N ROLL won't keep you out of heaven... Do you believe that Jesus Christ was the son of God and he died on the cross to forgive your sins? then you are a child of God and if you continue working to become more Christ like you will go to heaven to be with GOD forever!
Remember if God is our father he loves us, not matter what we do. It's truly unconditional love.
GOD BLESS

We don't live in the dark ages anymore. Rock and Roll music is okay to listen to and almost everyone lets a bad word slip sometimes. The big thing you need to be mindful of is whether or not your love your neighbour, and I don't mean the person next door. Everyone you come in contact with. Do you treat them the way that God wants you to? God loves you unconditionally and expects you to treat others the same way. It's almost impossible, but with God leading and guiding anything is possible. Be patient and trust in the Lord.

"As the Bible says, I am already saved (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8), but I’m also being saved (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12), and I have the hope that I will be saved (Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15). Like the apostle Paul I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11–13)."
Scripture teaches that one’s final salvation depends on the state of the soul at death. As Jesus himself tells us, "He who endures to the end will be saved" (Matt. 24:13; cf. 25:31–46). One who dies in the state of friendship with God (the state of grace) will go to heaven. The one who dies in a state of enmity and rebellion against God (the state of mortal sin) will go to hell.
Certainly, Christ did die on the cross once for all and has entered into the holy place in heaven to appear before God on our behalf. Christ has abundantly provided for our salvation, but that does not mean that there is no process by which this is applied to us as individuals. Obviously, there is, or we would have been saved and justified from all eternity, with no need to repent or have faith or anything else. We would have been born "saved," with no need to be born again. Since we were not, since it is necessary for those who hear the gospel to repent and embrace it, there is a time at which we come to be reconciled to God. And if so, then we, like Adam and Eve, can become unreconciled with God and, like the prodigal son, need to come back and be reconciled again with God, after having left his family.
